Built-in looks without the price!

Pros: Looks like a built-in, items are at eye level, saves energy
Cons: Have to bend down to get into freezer, freezer space is limited
The Bottom Line: A built-in look without the price. Never stoop again to look in to the fridge. Freezer is small, but overall I am very happy with this purchase.

It only makes sense, we open the fridge much more than the freezer-so why not have fridge on top? That was a major feature for me-I enjoy having everything at eye level. My veggie bins are at waist level and I'm less prone to forgetting what's in there.
The other feature I love is the built-in look. The body of the unit sits flush with my cabinets. Since it's shallower, it is also wider. This is a plus since I don't have items getting 'lost' in the back. It also gives a lot of storage space in the door. You can put gallon jugs of milk there and plenty of condiments. Keep in mind, because it is so wide-the door needs more space to swing out. I chose stainless steel, but you can also get custom panels to match your cabinets.
The freezer could use some improvement. It is on the small side. I 86'd the icemaker since it would eat up valuable storage space. There is a wire shelf, with a slide out bin underneath. Door space is VERY limited, only enough room for slim boxes of frozen dinners. If you purchase a lot of frozen items, you will need to keep things organized.
Other than the smallish freezer, I wouldn't trade this fridge for any other. I special ordered it from Sears & got them to beat a competitors price. I also got a $125 rebate from my utility company because it's so efficient. My electric bill has gone down $40 a month since I got rid of the side-by-side! Haven't had any repair problems with it in the past 2 years.
