Don't Blame Me!
Why, I wonder,
When we are CRITICIZED
Do we so OFTEN
Shift our WEAKNESSES
To SOMEONE in our Past:
WHO warped our personalities;
WHO put us down;
WHO discouraged us,
WHO distrusted us & WHO probably HATED us?
Are we hoping, perhaps, that
SOMEONE ELSE
Will step up and take the BLAME?
Why, I wonder,
When we are PRAISED
Do we so SELDOM
Shift our STRENGTHS
To SOMEONE along the way:
Who MOLDED our characters,
WHO lifted us up,
WHO encouraged us,
WHO trusted us & WHO probably LOVED us?
Are we afraid,
Perhaps, that
SOMEONE ELSE
Will step up and take the CREDIT?
Well, I want to say,
Right here and now,
Please take the credit,
Do!
But don't go shifting
The BLAME
On me!
