The Incredibles (Reply to this comment)
by KingpinLJC
I'm happy to see someone else shares my love for "The Incredbiles." I too think it is the best animated film I have seen, as it works remarkably well on all levels, and has something in it for everyone.

Some really interesting picks here. I think Top Tens often reveal a lot about a person, as much for what they leave out as opposed to what they select. You have some pretty high-falootin' and eccentric tastes. Just remember, "Just because people don't understand you, doesn't make you an artist" and I think you'll do just fine though. ;) Actually, a lot of your choices reflect some of the interesting changes I've been noticing in the film industry. Seems like they are finally starting to catch on that audiences don't necessarily like to be a. talked down to or b. pander to. It'll be interesting to see what develops in the next couple of years.

on all the ones I've seen (which aren't many, unfortunately). What I want to know is, did you see "Cellular" yet? We just saw it, and I thought it was a great, creative ride. So if you haven't seen it, check it out.
Great list.

You have to write a review on this. Epinions and Chadpinions demand it.
I just saw it a couple of weeks ago, I'm still ruminating. It's a ruminating kind of movie. But I'll get to it, yes, I'll get to it....

I haven't seen a lot of these films yet, but three in your 11-20 list are among my favorites of the year (Garden State, Maria Full of Grace and We Don't Live Here Anymore).
I knew your love for Maria and Garden State...but you saw We Don't Live Here Any More? You have to write a review on this. Epinions and Chadpinions demand it.
I hadn't planned on seeing The Door in the Floor, because I had, in fact, forgotten it existed. I'll need to be queuing that now.
It's not the best film to ever exist or anything, but it's quite watchable. Plus, Jeff Bridges gives one of the best performances of the year. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
As for Huckabees, I sort of agree with your wife. I didn't care for it all that much, but I agree with you about Mark Wahlberg - he was wonderful.
You suck.
I'm having the exact same inertia problem with Neverland that you did. I just can't summon any enthusiasm for the film or its subject matter. I'll see it eventually, though, because Johnny Depp makes everything good.
It's surprising how good the film is. I wanted to not like it, and it still made my top ten. That's gotta tell you something.
Netflixally Yours,
Chad.

Your wife didn't *heart* I *Heart* Huckabees? She's obviously crazy.
Obviously. I even bought the 2 disc DVD recently, and offered her a chance to redeem herself....and she said "no f*@$%ng way, ever."
So, I guess that's a no.

Well, duh. Look who she agreed to marry.
I was going to use the fact that Chad's wife didn't like Huckabees as a reason why he should leave her for me, but I didn't want to be like you.

Affinities (Reply to this comment)
by trust12345
We have quite a few betwixt our lists (affinities, that is), but when it comes to your bowing down to Eternal Sunshine..., our worship parts ways dramatically. As I've opined elsewhere, though, it could have been a mood of the moment thing, since virtually all my trusted sources enjoyed this in a top-tennish sort of way.
You'd have made the Academy proud with this list, Chad. But speaking of best animated films ever-- I did indeed love The Incredibles, but have you seen Miyazaki's Totoro? There's my vote.
Tip of the hat-
John
