The Bottom Line 2004 was a pretty good year, and my review shows some of the highlights.
Dbcint is hosting a great write-off about 2004 in review, and I decided that I wanted to give it a shot and enter in to it. The main page for the write-off is located here : dbcint's Write-off #1: Name one person you met who you met throughout the year that has made a lasting impression on you. Tell us about them. By now everyone knows the answer to this question is my girlfriend. I met her back in September, and by far, she is the most important, and most loved person that I met during the year. The impression that she has already left on me in this short time, will be with me for the rest of my life. She is the shining light in my life right now, and with everything that I do, I want her to be involved. #2: Was there a TV show you saw for the first time in 2004 (perhaps 2004 was it's first season) that you now absolutely love? There are actually 2. First, I am loving "Lost" on ABC Wednesday nights. It is a show rich with character development, and has all the makings of a great show. The other one is The Apprentice, which I have fallen in love with, and refuse to miss even a single episode of it. #3: Tell us about the best movie you saw last year. It doesn't have to be one that was released last year, just as long as you saw it for the first time in 2004. If possible, include a link to your review of it. The best movie that I saw in 2004 was Mystic River. While parts of it were hard to stomach, I found everything about the film to be superbly made. #4: How about the worst movie you saw last year? Is there one that sticks out a mile, perhaps you wrote a scathing review on it. Wild Things 2 was the worst movie that I saw this year. It was a close race though, and there are some that I haven't seen yet, but as of now this was what I found to be the worst movie of 2004. #5: Was there an event that you wish people would just shut up about already? Yes. I wish they would just throw Michael Jackson in jail, and NEVER, NEVER allow children to EVER go to Neverland Ranch again. #6: Was there a worldwide event that left you wondering what the world is coming to? Hearing about the Tsunami really floored me. We are still finding out new stories about it on a daily basis, and everything surrounding it makes you very sad. It made me thing of the possibility of that happening to the United States sometime in the near future. #7: Similarly, was there a worldwide event that made you happy? I was really happy with the Athens Olympics. It brought the world together, even if it was just for a short few weeks. The highlight of it all being the success that the Iraqi soccer team had under their new regime. #8: What were the best and worst albums you heard last year? I don't buy albums which I don't like, so I wouldn't be able to comment on the crappy music of the year. However, I have a few albums which I really liked. Eminem's Encore, Mud on The Tires by Brad Paisley was great, and Kanye West was at the top of his game as well. #9: Which musician / band disappointed you? Every artist who thought that they could get away with lip-syncing during the year, but ended up getting caught! #10: Are there any writers who were newbies in 2004 that you highly recommend we read? Just to name a few : alexanderaku gwumpysmurf dpjohansen puckmugger These are just a few of all the great writers that have started off great Epinions "careers" in 2004! #11: What was the most significant event of the year? It could be local, international, or simply personal President Bush being re-elected was a pretty significant event. I say this, because if he had lost, this country would be heading in a much different direction right now. #12: Do you think your life is on the right track for where you want to end up? How did 2004 affect this? I think that my life was put on the right track, and that meeting the woman of my dreams had a lot to do with it. If everything turns out the best it possibly could, she will be the person I spend the rest of my life with, and 2004 was the year this all became possible. #13: Was there anything else significant about 2004 you'd like to add? The Red Sox won the pennant. The Pistons proved that defense wins championships. I got a new job at Washington State University. I hope you enjoyed some of my review of 2004 :) |
