alphaproject's Full Review: Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO Professional Headphones
I bought these shortly after my Sennheiser 280 Pro's started cracking near the headband. They still work, but I'll keep them as my backup's.
The Beyerdynamics include a completely different design than the more portable Sennheisers, but that's not really a bad thing. The Senn 280 pros were meant for Studio use and have a bit of portability to them. These DT 770's are not foldable and are crafted with care that you can feel as well as see.
Velour pads, thick cups and a study headband are what seperate these from your portable versions often seen with youngsters or DJ's.
The sound and comfort is what counts so I'll jump straight to that.
Deep low end that rival higher end and much more expensive headphones.
Warm midrange and good treble that's easy to listen to.
They tend to focus more on the low end of notes....which gives them their warmth instead of focusing on high mids and trebles which tends to lead some headphones to sound harsh and too bright.
Sound - 9/10
Comfort - 9/10 Most people could wear them all day long.
My ears are not big but are very sensitive so I can usually wear them for 3-4 hours and then I need a break of a little time.
Quality - 10/10
Portability - 5/10 A tad large for carrying around but anything is possible but they require more power from their source being at 80 ohms and 96 db efficiency.
