Founded in 1970, The Little Tikes Company has provided high-quality toys and childhood products for more than thirty-years! As an Early Childhood Educator and Mom of Two, I have a lot of experience with the Little Tikes brand. My fondness for this brand dates back to 1985, while employed for a major child care facility; twenty years later I still maintain appreciation for this toy brand. Little Tikes is well known for their plastic furniture & toys for children. During infancy and toddler stages my daughters enjoyed several of the toy including: Activity Garden, Xylophone, Soft Rocking Cow, and so many other toys. During toddlerhood and preschool days, my girls enjoyed make-believe play with products such as the Doll Stroller, Kitchen, Doll Highchair, Vacuum, and more. While playing outdoors they enjoyed various outdoor structures including the Country Cottage, Alligator Teeter Totter, and they enjoyed sports type of play with sets such as the Easy Hit Baseball Set. Also they enjoyed ride-ons such as the Cozy Coupe II Car. My oldest daughter outgrew the Little Tikes long ago. However my youngest daughter still has the Barbie Dollhouse (and accessories) in her room. Recently we gave my niece the full-size and the doll-sized Beauty Salons. As my daughters outgrew the products, the well-made toys continued to be used by the children that attended my in-home licensed daycare. Toys from this manufacturer address many skills and assist toward offering safe products for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. This manufacturer offers: Furniture Playhouses Outdoor Structures Toys - Role Play - Ride-ons - Kitchens - Sandboxes - Sports - Water Play - Trucks - Infant - Preschool and more It is my view that this manufacturer offers products that are high-quality and an overall attribute to the early childhood years. There are products that I have owned for at least 14 years, and other then some fading (on the outdoor products), the toys continue to be enjoyed in play session after play session. The plastic toys are easy to clean, either use a wet wipe or detergent and water. Additionally these toys can be sanitized (as is required in licensed child care facilities) and continue to look great. Although the majority of the products sold by this manufacturer are plastic, in 2003 Little Tikes introduced their first line of wooden furniture - Natural Interiors: including a storage center, toy box, table, chair, desk, and easel. This line is appreciated by friends of mine who don't care for the traditional plastic room accessories and want a natural wood finish. Later -2004- they introduced the Hudson Line; wood preschool furniture that is colorfully painted. During 2003 & 2004 Little Tikes extended licensing agreements for products such as linens, apparel and bicycles. Regardless of their expansion into products other than the stand-by, my favorites continue to be the plastic sort of products. As with all toy brands, there are a few purchases that I haven't been as thrilled with as I initially anticipated. However this is a rare occasion with the Little Tikes brand. A sentiment that doesn't hold true for certain other toy manufacturers. There have been occasions that I have contacted this manufacturer. The customer service is excellent, responding quickly and friendly. I have ordered replacement decals, parts, and requested product replacement (rare). Regardless of my need, the customer service reps truly appear to care about customer satisfaction. Also, the resale value of Little Tikes products has been good. In fact some of the discontinued items have sold for either the purchase price or more. I have successfully sold preowned toys to local shops, at yard sales, and on eBay. And there have been a few occasions that I have purchased preowned Little Tikes products. Quite simply the durability of their toys is impressive!
