I believe this is the most dishonest and rude company I have ever encountered. They advertise free shipping, and when one completes the order and payment process online, one gets a screen showing the total, which is exactly the price of the item, with no shipping fees or anything else added. Then one gets an email the next day, saying one has to call them to confirm the order. I called and asked why I had to call; I was told it was to avoid fraud. Little did I know that this arrangement itself is a virtually fraudulent, and at the very least extremely misleading, act. The 'customer service' agent proceeded, after confirming address and billing info, to inform me that 6% would be added to the charge. I said no, and pointed out that the website says everywhere that shipping is free and that their online payment screens show the item cost as the total amount. He said no, there was this additional handling and insurance fee. I said this struck me as a form of bait and switch. He began arguing the point with me, getting louder and louder. I asked numerous times to speak with a supervisor, but was not connected. He then informed me that he was cancelling my order. I said no, I didn't want to cancel my order but to resolve the issue. He then said he was cancelling the order because I was supposedly being 'sarcastic' in trying to explain to him why this is a dishonest practice. I insisted one more time on speaking with his supervisor and was placed in a 30-minute queue. By the time someone answered, I had already received an email saying that my order had been cancelled. The supervisor, who said his name was Adam, was not rude, but unwavering in his insistence that this was a fair practice, since somewhere on some linked webpage there's some fine print that says this extra charge 'may' be assessed. He apologized for my unpleasant experience, but obviously had no interest in making it pleasant or in making things right and honest. I have ordered many electronics items from other online companies; there have been a couple of mix-ups, but never anything that ended up costing me more money or prevented me from receiving the right merchandise in perfect new condition. Maybe I've been lucky until now. This company is just unbelievable, and it's amazing to me that they are still in business at all.
