Great read!! (Reply to this comment)
by davidp24
You sound like a very interesting person. I used to enjoy wrestling every week at Miami Beach Convention Hall when Dusty Rhodes (he was my favorite) used to wrestle. What's he doing these days? Maybe someday I'll regain my interest in wrestling (I did see the movie "Noche Libre" so I guess that's a start). Your review was very interesting and I hope you write more in the future.

Hi Patty (Reply to this comment)
by craftswoman
I enjoyed your interview. I can relate to a lot of what you said. Why write a short answer when you can write a long one. I can write brief, punchy sentences but I don't think anyone ever told me that just one paragraph would suffice. The thought of interviewing myself, wow! I think that would be so tough! It's even a bit scary! I may look into it but I don't know if I can do it.
Right now, as I'm trying to concentrate and write this, my 29-year-old son is bending my ear about boxing. He is depressed because he can't see the Showtime fight tonight between Diego (Chico) Corrales and Luis Castillo - two lightweights.
When he lived at home (he is living at home again, but that is another story) he used to watch wrestling. In reading your story I harked back to the days of Cindy Lauper and Hulk Holgan. (please don't hold any misspellings against me.) I started to ask him, Mike my son, if he knew any names in wrestling. He said he didn't and that he hadn't watched it since he was 12. When you mentioned Batista, even I had heard of him so I said, "what about Batista?" (I knew he would know him.) "Oh, yeah, I know him." But then he was off and running about an article or a book about Hulk where he talked about all his injuries. He also was urging me to read an article about one of the boxers I mentioned above and how his doctor was fined or he was fined because he was overweight for a fight and bla, bla-bla, bla-bla. Once, when Mike was a teenager, he came to me and said, "Mom, I'm gonna be a boxer." Words every mother wants to hear. Fortunately he didn't take that road.
So did you meet Cindy and Hulk? Those are (I think) the only two wrestling people I know of. I probably know a few more by their faces.) I couldn't escape the world of sports. My dad was a sports fanatic, my husband (now my ex) and my son.
Me, I'm into flying although I don't do it anymore.
"I dont plaster my profile page with pictures and info about it either"
You made me think when you wrote that. I was looking for pictures! I'll make a deal with you. You post a photo of you and your wrestling world and I'll post a photo of me and my flying world. What kind of a world do we live in when two women can't express who they are?
Is it a deal?

Wow, A Wrestling Writer (Reply to this comment)

I enjoyed this interview with your alter ego. You sure you're not a wrestler yourself?
I haven't been keeping tabs on the wrestling in the past year as I used to so I'm a bit out of the loop. However, I love pointing out to my son when he thinks he sees someone new pop up that the guy was wrestling before he was born. LOL

Wrestling talk is my favorite (as you may have noted). lol.
You can email me at wrestlewriter@msn.com or wotf_patty@msn.com (The wotf name gets read more often).
I would love to hear your predictions. I do a lot of talking/predicting/complaining on my message boards and my website but it is always nice to hear other points of views.
Thanks for hosting this write off and for the comment.

Loved your entry, it was very informative and I really enjoyed reading it though I do have to say that on question 10 I disagree with a few of your predictions for the year (I too am a huge wrestling mark). I'd love to chat with you sometime about life, wrestling and the pursuit of epinions so if you happen to have a free moment or two, feel free to drop me an IM anytime you wish.

Re: Wow Girl (Reply to this comment)

This busy isn't half as much fun as the busy I was on the road. My poor kids were so sick of meeting their idols and the big wrestling stars and staying in hotels that they finally said they had it with wrestling. I suppose, considering the current product, I should be glad!
Luckily I have a lot of support from my husband and my kids are older now (14 and 19) so my running around like a chicken with its head cut off is deemed normal around here.
Thanks for commenting :)

I like wrestling. But I am the first to condemn some of the angles and storylines hence the reason I am not well liked at Titan Towers.
I respect the men and women who put their bodies on the line and who travel all over the world sometimes up to 285 days a year.
The creative team and the writing staff is another story. Their idea of "good entertainment" is vastly different from mine and sometimes (like the Triple H/Batista slow building feud), their ideas seem to work and other times (like about a million other storylines), their ideas are just plain dumb.
I am hoping that WWE will wake up and see that their weird attempts at humor, their gay jokes, stereotyping of races and nationalities, etc are just a turn off.
Gay jokes? That is just soooo 1980's. It's a shame that Cena is stuck having to appease Vince by saying that stuff. Vince loves that kind of stuff as well as other silly "potty humor" that we all outgrew years ago.
You can always email me or visit my message boards. There are tons of people who want to talk wrestling but always with respect for each other.
Thanks for reading and commenting!

LOL, not many women especially my age are involved in wrestling the way I am. But it's in my blood now.
I like to comment but only when I really feel what I am saying should be said rather than to comment so people will know I am there or whatever. I know epinions says we should comment a lot and I do comment, but not every time I rate by any means.

So you're a writer for wrestling! I have quite a few thoughts about Smackdown but didn't know anyone else who was interested....
Okay, what was up with the "rap battles" (a few weeks ago) between cena and kenzo? first of all, it had nothing to do with wrestling. second of all, it wasn't a rap battle. lines were obviously rehearsed and S-L-O-W. third of all, kenzo's rhymes were actually better. fourth of all, cena called him "gay." aside from its appropiate meaning, i find this to be quite offensive.
And the whole bit about Kenzo trying to be "American." I mean, these confrontrations between them seem to serve no purpose than to humiliate the Asian guy. The guy who looks different. Their fights aren't even close! And then WWE goes and talks to their fans in Japan and how much they love them???
I'm not easily offended, but I find those bits to be really um....disagreeable with me. I know wrestling is something you really like, and I like watching wrestling. It's fun. It's just...is there any need for the Cena v Kenzo battles??? I don't mean to make fun of wrestling but would like to know why they do that. Thank you.

Thanks for reading and your comments!
*shudder* Rena Mero (soon to be Lesnar). I wonder how interested she is in marrying him now that he doesn't have any money and no job? Hmm.
I like Batista, I just don't think he is quite ready to carry a whole show yet. The build up to his turn is so good that I fear when/if he wins, it will be a let down.
Cena is talented and, if would just go heel again, cut out the silly stuff, and get back to being tough not being Vanilla Ice, I think he will do fine. I agree about JBL but not Holly! He is a big jerk. They have Eddie and Angle over there and yet JBL had belt the belt for months. That's just bad business. To think Vince believes JBL was one of the best SD champs makes my head spin.

The last time I heard someone interview themself was last year at the Great American Bash when Sable interviewed the "hottest" WWE superstar, but unlike miss soon to be Rena Mero-Lesnar, your interview was entertaining.
Epinions will be a better place as long as you keep writing here!!!
Great interview
The Motley Kid
P.S
I agree that Batista isn't quite ready for the belt yet, maybe a trial run with the IC belt, and as for Cena, I haven't caught on to his gimmick at all (I can't stand rap), so I'm not to amped about him getting the strap at 'Mania. Eddie should get it again, but I guess anyones better then JBL, even Hardcore Holly who has about as much charisma as a brown shoe lace...

lol. I am having so much trouble not acting up. But I am doing well, I think. I just hope I don't get a moment of immaturity and make silly comments in my reviews. I have slipped up a few times and threw in a stupid line or two but this is my therapy.
Go to epinions.com to learn to act your age (which is really old in my case).
