The Bottom Line: These guys are running a scam to try to get you to renew your domains through them. Be very careful!

This review is just the tip of the iceberg, because I'm going to make a big stink in the pants of this Interland company.

About a year ago, I registered my domain WickedClean.com through a web hosting company called SpiderWebGroup. So far, I am very satisifed with their service, and the price for full Windows NT hosting with datbase capability was about 10 bucks per month. My domain expires in November and I plan to renew.

About a week ago I got an email from SpiderWebGroup which notified me that my domain is going to expire next month and told me what I need to do in order to renew it. One of the reasons I chose to register my domain through SpiderWebGroup is because their rates are lower than Network Solutions.

So I get this letter in the mail from a company called Interland, and underneath their letterhead it says they are A Network Solutions Alliance Partner. Being a NS Alliance Partner really just means that they signed up as an affiliate to sell domains for a commission. You and I can sign up to be an Alliance Partner just by filling out a form.

What gets me is Interland offers me a whopping 14% savings if I renew my domain for 2 years and only have to pay $60. Woo hoo! I save 5 bucks per year. I can renew through Dotster for 15 bucks per year. Some deal Interland offers.

Anyway, I just want to send out a warning to everyone in case you get a letter from these guys. Don't think you have to go through them to register your domain. I plan on making formal complaints to Network Solutions as well as to the Better Business Bureau of Georgia (where the company is from) and I hope to at least get them in trouble.

Lucky for me, I knew better than to fall for this.
