I only disagree with Eternal Sunshine as being so well written or enjoyable. It didn't impress me so much. Supersize Me was fun, if a bit radical.

Steven,
If I could I would rate this review Most Helpful!! Thank you for taking the time to write such an extensive wrap up of the year that was in movies. As always your review shed new light on the movie scene and enlightened me

No, it's a 2004 release since it came out in NY/LA on the 29th of Dec.

Sorry about that. Yeah, she's been in some feuds and not to mention, showing her boobies accidentally and all sorts of stuff with her dad.

Unfortunately it wasn't for their acting but instead scandals were leading the pack was Lindsay Lohan.
Huh? This seems like an odd run on sentence. Did Lindsey Lohan have scandals last year? I much have kinda sorta missed them if so.

Well, von Trier to me is the Ultimate Bad Boy...
The man is very vicious in his subject matters and is clearly not for everyone but he is the man to me.

Fine roundup and all... (Reply to this comment)

But this sentence:
With next year's Manderlay set for release, it's clear that von Trier will be the one to beat in the levels of bad taste and sadism.
is incredibly reductive, and it calls your inclusion of Dogville on your list into question, since that film actively baits and then responds to the frequent and ill-informed criticisms that Von Trier's films are little more than rote exercises in misogyny and sadism. Not that I have a problem with the inclusion of Dogville-- it's my #1 film of the year by a wide margin-- but I have absolutely no idea what point you're trying to make with that sentence or how it's the least bit related to either of the films he released in 2004.
Beyond that, this is an excellent piece of work that I absolutely enjoyed reading, even in regard to a handful of films I didn't care for.
Best,
Jonathan

any of these movies, I am sure glad you wrote this review. My husband hates the movies, so I am forced to wait until cable shows them. Great review....
