I actually WENT to Crazy Gideon's once. His store is in a neighborhood that made me think Dawn of the Dead continuously; frankly, I should have gotten PAID for going there. I looked for those highly advertised laptops for 250 bucks.

The 250 dollar one looked more like an electronic typewriter. For around 800, you oculd get a refurbished laptop with Windows 98 that couldn't even play a DVD. And all that peddled to me by a guy I couldn't understand for the life of me.

As for 1-800-Dentist ... funny. They didn't ask ME a singole thing other than my address. You'd think if they're so worried about Spanish, someone by the name of Petra should make them ask. But they're "great" match-up service really was nothing but "where do you live? Yeah, there's a guy here who's got a degree from here and there" like that means anything to me.

Although I don't care for auto-racing, either, I found the remark about Dale Earnhardt to be in rather poor taste, to say the least.

He was like an uncle to one of my friends, and I know that she and her family were really torn-up when he was killed.

AJ? Part of the wonderful thing about being an American is that we enjoy FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Dale Earnhardt was a nasty driver and many other drivers hated him. Why that guy is made out to be some race car messiah, baffles me. Nascar is about as interesting as cockfighting. Both "events" have a by-product of death. That is sad. While I don't wish anyone harm, the fact that all these Nascar fans continually whine about him like he was Jesus, makes me ill. I stand by my flippant joke...if you don't care for it - switch the channel. It's a JOKE...lighten up, dear.

Other than that, I thought this was really entertaining and funny--a VH piece (but I couldn't give it that with the remark about #3--yet, I didn't want to rate it low, either).

Your psycho salesman reminds me of a guy named Don who lives in the Indianapolis area and sells guns.

He always ends his spiel by either saying (while making a trigger-pulling motion with his index finger and getting this wild gleam in his eyes):

"I don't want to make money! I just love to sell guns! Heh-Heh-Heh..."

or (this variation)

"I don't want to make money! I just loves to sell 'em! Heh-Heh-Heh..."

Cheers!
AJ :o)

Yeah, it would make me run screaming out of the room too. And the tech college ads, those have always made me wonder -- if you're so good, why are you advertising? -- Telynor

TFF...hiya Doc. You helped illustrate my point. Look, women fought for equality (and rightfully so) now, equality does NOT work both ways, dear. Fair is fair. And another thing, why do these ads pop up at holiday time? If I love someone, I'm not gonna wait until some holiday to profess my feelings for her.

I say, BS. Where are the ads that tell women to go out and buy men Plasma TVs to show their men they love them?

Hand over the AmEx platinum and I'll be more than happy to go surprise with a plasma TV... just let me ogle your butt while you set it up.

LOL..Hi Gael. What gets me is that Larry H. Parker has had a 92% success rate ALL THESE YEARS. I'm sure that statistic is not accurate. LOL

Wow! Patricia, you've made me laugh - big time. Unlike our spineless pal [hidden] who is obviously too shy to actually tell us why he or she thought my post was not helpful. But, then again, what do you expect from the spineless?

Thanks for your kind words.

Grrrr I hate that check in to cash trash too.

And re: show the woman you love her...give diamonds. I DETEST that commercial where the guy screams in the middle of the street "I LOVE THIS WOMAN!" and then gives her the diamond. Then she whispers "I love this man, I love em I love em..." blah blah blleeeeech.

I wanna pimp slap both of em.

Geee, now I'm all riled up....where's my xanax?

:-)

Ha! I had forgotten about the Larry H. Parker ad...jeez - I watched that one for YEARS. How come that same guy is still the spokesman for Larry? Is it possible that he is the ONLY client Larry Parker ever had? ha! I hate that Check into Cash ad too, but am glad I can't recall the mother-daughter ad you had last on your list.

Thanks for the great list!
