Well, I placed an order with Mercantila BEFORE looking on Epinions (I know, backwards). Anyway, I was trying to figure out exactly what I should do about it when I received an email with tracking info. Of course, that only helped a little because I just knew when it arrived it would be the wrong item or it would be refurbished instead of new, or it would be in 1000 pieces from bad/no packing.
Well, it showed up today (one day ahead of schedule). And not only was it the correct item, but it was TRIPLE boxed and filled with more styrofoam and bubble packing around the 2nd box than I have seen in years!
Looking at all the bad feedback, I would say it looks like your chances at getting what you want are 50:50...but I have to say I got what I ordered for a great price and with good service. Maybe it was dumb luck, divine intervention...or maybe they have changed from the way they used to be.
If you want to find out their manager's info and owner's info then do a search on Mercantila+BBB or Mercantila+complaints. I found that and hoped I would not need it but it's got some good contact info that might help someone who is getting screwed.
