Still haven't seen it, but now I will. Pretty good list. Not a LOTR fan.

Glad you agree with me Milli, no wait was it you who used your evil mind-control powers on me again? Is this my list at all?!?!?

Rabbit Proof Fence. I'm glad to see it getting some recognition. Catch Me If you Can is one of those that I wasn't really interested in seeing, actually, but when I did had a good time with it. Not heavy weight, but certainly entertaining. Fine choices - especially number one, of course.
Maybe I'll get around to seeing all the movies I'm interested in from 2002 by some time in 2009. By then I will have forgotten most of them. Oh, well, so much for that "best of" list I was planning.....;)

Hey Melissa!
Well who couldn't agree about the top one?!? :-O I just couldn't believe it when people started saying Return of the King was the best of the three!!
I bet my no.2 was one of the ones you'd never heard of... in fact I hadn't until I borrowed it from my parents, and it was mainly seeing that film that prompted me to write this review!

interesting. I'd have to agree with your #1 choice that's for sure. I have seen all but three of your top 10... I guess I should check out the others... never even heard of of 2 of 'em! Great picks, great write up!

Surprisingly, I've actually seen a good deal of these (half, to be exact), and I agree that three of them - four if you catch me in a good mood - deserve a spot on such a list.
What's even more amazing though, is that by the end of the year, I can probably write my own list on the best films of 2002.

I wasn't as impressed with Two Weeks Notice as you were, but I do agree with you on Nicholas Nickleby, I thought it was an excellent adaption of Dickens' novel. Sheila
