I am the mommy of a 2 year old and an infant, so as you can probably imagine I have my hands full. Shopping with these two is an adventure, to say the least. An adventure I don’t attempt very often, as it usually ends in disaster. Like this evening when I took them to a grocery store and accidentally locked the keys in the van. I called my husband who called a friend who came to unlock it for me…and I waited outside for nearly 20 minutes with a cranky baby and impatient toddler. Like I mentioned before, shopping can be quite the adventure.
Which is why Ebay is perfect for me! I can shop at home, for practically anything I could ever want or need. I get to decide what I am willing to pay for an item, which usually comes out to much less then I would get at the store. And if I win, (I usually do) I can pay in a variety of ways and receive my product very quickly. I guess I am lucky, as I have always gotten very considerate and prompt sellers. The longest I have waited for a package to arrive was 2 weeks from winning the auction, and that was because the seller waited for my check to clear.
I have bought many things from Ebay, such as my son’s snowsuit. At the store it would have cost me at least $20, but I bought it on Ebay for only $4, and it was nearly brand new! I have bought decorations for my home, usually expensive and hard to find maternity clothes, even Christmas presents for my relatives! Not everything is used; many products are “new in box” and sell much cheaper then the average discount store.
The search engine is incredibly simple to use, just type in what you are looking for and click “Search”, and there it is! The main screen has a wonderful set-up, with its many features easily accessible. There is even a forum for members to chat with other members or get help when problems arise.
While browsing I have come across some shocking and particularly disgusting things, like mummified animals. Someone even tried to sell some debris from the World Trade Center attacks, but Ebay officials immediately removed it. Ebay is usually great at monitoring it’s site, and will remove anything offensive.
As for seller/buyer security, I find it to be very trustworthy. Ebay has features that allow previous buyers/sellers to leave feedback about other dealers/customers. I always stay away from new names who have no feedback, and deal with the sellers that have at least 5 positives and 0 negatives. I have never had any problems with crooks using this method.
My only complaint would be that some sellers are slackers when it comes to leaving me feedback, so I have actually had many more positive transactions then my profile says.
