Lasik Decision Process (Reply to this comment)
by nestegg
Making the decision is tough, I'm still wrestling with it. I've put all my research on the risk of complication, who are good and bad candidates, etc online at my blog:

Hmmmm..... (Reply to this comment)

I wear glasses and contacts, and am 27. I want this surgery, just for the simple pleasure of not having to wear glasses and contacts. It would be nice to get up once in the morning and be able to see the alarm clock without searching for glasses. It would be nice to not have to worry about taking my contacts out before bedtime.
Since everyone has different responses to this surgery, I'm a little apprehensive at the moment. I wonder "what if my bad eyesight comes back? What if my eyesight is WORSE after having this? What if I get cornea infections decades down the road? WHat if I get halos and can't drive at night?"
I mean, yeah, I know there's many success stories, but I wonder what the long term effects will be for those for have this surgery even though they say "it was the best thing ever done in my life"
There's this other eye surgery I heard of called "Intacts" Have you ever heard of it? Apparently they don't reshape your cornea, but they do insert a little plastic ring in the upper part of your cornea that allows you to see 20/20 without contacts or glasses. And it's totally reversible. If you ever see halos or glares, they can take the implant out.
Good review, although I'm still scared about this. I mean, these are my eyes I'm talking about, not simply getting a new hair style.
