...And don't you ever...I mean ever ...think of trashing that beautiful Dual 1218...the sexiest looking and sounding turntable of all time! Thanks for your warm comment. Actually my first experience with a GE VR II was in the tonearm of a $49.95 Lafayette mono record player. This was my intro a whole new world of "fi" back in 1960...Peter

A beautiful tone (arm) poem! (Reply to this comment)
by markmccoyvideo
Thanks for the memories - you have inspired me to dig out my old Dual 1218 and a stack of wax. Your mention of GE's VR II takes me back to a small town high school gym and my homebrew, almost Hi-Fi, contraption cobbled together with parts from the likes of McGee Radio, Olsen Electronics and, of course, my dad's tube caddy. Not much to look at but sure lit up the dance floor. Keep up the good work. Long live analog!

I joined just so I could reply to Peter's homage to analog.
This actually brought tears to my eyes.
I'm so glad I never disposed of my LPs or TTs or cartridges.
Thanks Peter,
