I get something that looks as if it were written in some sort of hieroglyphic code. Doesn't make the least bit of sense to me. Should call it Sphynx-mail or something. Do you know anything about that?
Yes, those Mickey Mouse shows were really something. I've even watched them as an adult when I happen to catch them on The Disney Channel. If they WERE merely a program-long commercial for Disneyland there was no way to tell it, because they were so creative and well-made!

Thanks! I love to do that! Get it from Paul Harvey, and it's call an inverted storyline!

Absolutely great write-up. I simply love how you start it, having us guess who you might be writing about, and then hit us with the Marlboro Man.

Great write up!

Re: Very well done (Reply to this comment)
by AinsleyJo
Probably so!
I read another one of the W/O entries where the person writing it said that it's a big lie that the main purpose of TV is to entertain.
The purpose was to advertise and that what would really make network executives happy would simply be to just have nothing but one commercial right after the other.
Somehow, I don't know that this is true, but it must seem that way when all of the "juice" is put into the commercials instead of into the programs!
Cheers!

"Nobody can tell us that there's no such thing as a commercial being louder than the regular programming, because we know that the opposite is true!"
I totally agree.lol I personally think they do all the commercials louder than the program itself so that if the show is boring and puts the viewer to sleep at least the advertising will get the viewer's attention.lol It may scare the viewer in the process with it's eardrum piercing volume but it will definitely get their attention.lol

Re: :) (Reply to this comment)

It's my pleasure!!!
Just talked to Mark, and he and Barbara are down around Cave City, KY and have pulled over to sleep for a couple or so hours. I told Mark to be sure and shut the engine off while they're sleeping--and to shut off his cell-phone so he won't get his sleep broken into any more.
Their estimated arrival time here will be around four in the morning--meaning that I'm going to have time to read every single one of those commercial rants before they get here.
I'm so glad, because, once Mark starts working on my computer, I won't be able to make it here for at least a day or two.
Hopefully, he can get everything done, still get some rest, and make it back safely and in time to turn the car back into the rental company so that he won't be charged for an extra day.
Car is supposed to be back on Thursday morning, so this is going to be one quick trip!
Cheers!
