Impertinent Thoughts on Pertinent Subjects XLVI

The Bottom Line If your rhythm ever falls out of time You can bring it to me and i will make it alright

* Never mind the fact that I really truly honestly didn't feel The Black Crowes would get back together just six months ago. But if you told me that when they did, MARC F*CKING FORD would be back on lead guitar, I would've called you insane. But it happened, and my god, it's a beautiful thing. Is May 10/11 here yet? Hell, are the NYC shows here yet? I can't wait to see setlists...and now they're playing little club shows as warmups under the name of Mr.Crowes Garden (Vermont, western MA, NY, PA, CT) next week...man this makes me excited...or can you tell?

* I'm really sick of the lamestream media kissing 50 Cent's a*s like he's the greatest thing since sliced bread...the dude sucks, period.

* Say what you want about Brian "Head" Welch, but it takes balls to come out and do what he did. If the dude finds happiness in church and religion and all that stuff, then good for him. Besides, it's not like Korn has made a decent record in the last few years anyway...

* As if Good Charlotte and New Found Glory wasn't a crappy enough touring package, now Good Charlotte is teaming up with the worst band on the planet, Simple Plan, for a spring/summer tour.

* In other crappy touring package news, Oasis is going out with Jet this summer. Not that anyone on this side of the Atlantic gives a rat's a*s about Oasis anymore (and not that anyone has for oh, 8 years), but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

* If American Idiot hits five million units shipped, it will almost restore my faith in the American record buying public.

* So Coldplay will be back in record stores soon, which will no doubt leading to many many reviews praising their brand of crappy, sleepy, boring, unimaginative slop. Oh joy!

* Speaking of crappy, sleepy, boring, unimaginative slop, Jack Johnson has a new album out.

* Good to see Kid Rock still likes to give me reasons to hate him. What a pompous prick...

* It's cool that Nine Inch Nails is back and all, but honestly, how good are they gonna sound in a place like the Orpheum here in Boston, when bands like The Black Crowes have trouble at times with that venue?

* So the Fred Durst sex tape hit the internet and all of a sudden, people were rushing to see it...now, this might just be me, but why anyone would want to watch Fred Durst have sex is beyond me...this is Fred Durst we're talking about...what is WRONG with you people?

* Nick Carter's looking S-E-X-Y in his latest mug shot...

* So let me get this straight...Moby wrote a song about how vapid Nick and Jessica are...this coming from the dude who wanted people to call up Butterball and protest around Thanksgiving time. Christ I hate him...

* I'm no huge fan of Blink 182 (though I do like a decent amount of their stuff, especially Dude Ranch), but I feel for their fans over their "hiatus."

* Weezer is finally putting out their fifth (and long awaited) album in May...considering the lack of replayability of Maladroit, the wait is hopefully worthwhile

* After reading reviews of their show here in Boston this past weekend, I'm wondering if I need to see Motley Crue on their current tour. If for no other reason than the fact that it's a "show" in classic 80s over indulgence. Too bad the setlist is a tad disappointing.

* Does anyone actually care if Will Smith has a new album?

* I reviewed it two years ago, but any hard rock fan should try and grab a copy of Jerry Cantrell's Degradation Trip Vol 1 & 2...I pulled that bad boy out for the first time in a while (i.e. 8 months to a year) and it's a friggin great record.

* Hard rock fans should also be grateful that a new album by Queens of the Stone Age is due to drop later this month.

* Is it just me, or is Ciara just plain untalented?

* The chart success of the GNR Greatest Hits record is amazing...no new songs, hardly any promotion, and the thing's still in the top 50 of the Billboard Top 200 albums list.

And lastly this month, an invite to all interested parties to take part in the fifth annual I'll Show You Mine If You'll Show Me Yours write-off. Full details can be found here: http://www.epinionsmusicsource.com/viewtopic.php?t=4542

Thus far, the response has been tremendous (and the compliments from some of you has been as well), and it looks like this will be the biggest year yet.-ADDENDUM: SIGNUPS ARE NOW CLOSED, AND THE PAIRINGS ARE COMPLETE. NO MORE EMAILS PLEASE. THANKS! :)
