A Fair if Bookish List, as usual. (Reply to this comment)

Metalluk: You miss the finest wedding of "classical music" to story to action to drama to film, ever made: Powell-Pressburger's THE RED SHOES. If you have the same snobbery toward "Ballet Music" that some of the characters in that musical tragedy have, you might give Powell-Pressburger's TALES OF HOFFMANN a look and a listen.
All the best.

"Callas Forever", which I don't think anyone else has reviewed.
Once upon a time "Elvira Madigan" introduced Mozart's 21st Piano Concerto to a larger audience, but with Bertolucci, Visconti, and Eisenstein prominent on your list, far be it from me to pick nits.
