***I hadn't heard anything on when it was set. I just knew it would be before the first X-Men movie. Gambit isn't supposed to be that old is he?

Gambit isn't supposed to be that old at all. But who knows how he will fit into this movie.

It will definitely be interesting considering this is supposed to take place 17 years before the first X-Men movie. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I don't know how that's going to work as well. We'll just have to wait and see.

I read somewhere recently that someone was thinking that Gambit was part of that experiment thing that Wolverine was. It was pointed out that in the second movie that Gambit was in that list of of mutants involved in that project.

I know that he finished filming but I'm wondering if there were changes made after his death.

I haven't about any, but who knows.

I'm wondering if any re-shooting had to be done to make Harvey Dent a bit more prominent after Ledger's death. This is one more I can't wait to see.

Maybe that's why it's tabled right now.

Maybe so.

Nightmare is an interesting character to use and he definitely qualifies as a mystical opponent. I would love to see it.

I think it could be very cool with all the magical and mystical stuff.

The Elementals was added just for that animated feature. The early days really had Iron Man as the face of capitalism going against the evils of communism. That obviously changed after the Vietnam War.

Ok.

Now you understand why the Avengers movie is the last one to be made.

I figured it would be anyway since I thought they would want to introduce at least some of the other characters first.

***That's what I found. del Toro directing and Gaiman doing the screenplay. There was speculation that the main villain would be ..umm..Nightmare I think it was. I think it was said that he..it...whatever...was one of Strange's first villains.
I really liked the character of Strange and all the magical stuff going on with him, so I would be very interested in seeing a live action movie. That could be very cool.

Yeah, the animated movie really changed the character and made him into an ancient warlord whose spirit emerges when his descendants wear all five rings. He wasn't the first villain but one of the earlier ones in Iron Man's career. Most of his villains from the early days stemmed from Communism.

That would be the most ironic thing if he avoided all these traps only to finally be stopped by a pit of snakes. LOL

Well there is that. It would also really annoy me and probably make me freak out in a theater full of people given my phobia. lol I almost sent my Coke flying a few years back when a huge snake lunged out in Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Right now, there is a Justice League movie in the works but they aren't using the same actors who already play Batman and Superman in it. They cast other people for that role. Stupid move on Warner Bros part, but it's on hold right now.

That's a very dumb move on Warner Brothers part. It would be so much better with the same actors. Though maybe they will get a clue from what Marvel is doing now.

There's renewed talks about that movie again with Guillermo del Toro directing it and possibly Neil Gaiman writing the screenplay. It was lobbied for a 2005 release date at one point until Marvel reclaimed all rights in 2006. At the rate Marvel is going right now, I wouldn't be surprised at the 2010 release date.

I had read that Favreau originally wanted to use the Mandarin. Was he the fist bad guy that Iron Man dealt with in the comics?

The Mandarin always had the ten rings of power, which are alien in origin. Surprisingly, he is also one of Earth's greatest scientific geniuses. That animated movie made him all mystical which isn't true. I know Favreau wanted to use him in this first film but didn't know how to do so properly without making him look hokey.

I was well aware of what movies they were planning to do but not the dates. It's all leading to the Avengers movie, which is exactly what Marvel wants. And they are doing it in the correct way right now.

Let's see:
Punisher: War Zone in Dec 2008
X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2009
Thor and Iron Man in 2010
Captain America and The Avengers in 2011

Plus, there's an Ant-Man movie as well.

Marvel is kicking butt right now.

I know what you mean but it would have been too premature to do so. That's why sequels were invented and we will have to wait until 2010 to see it.

I know what scene you're thinking about and that's not the one at all. That's reserved for the movie coming out next month This one will definitely be a surprise.

Hmm..Ok. Well hopefully I'll see it again before much longer and I'll know.

It's not so much the group but the name that gave it away. The Mandarin was actually favoured to be used for the first film but they didn't know how to make him relevant for today's time. I think I know how they will use him and it's going to be similar to Ra's al Ghul in Batman Begins, at least that's what I believe.

The name.. Because The Mandarin wanted those rings of power? Or was that just the version of the character for the animated Iron Man movie? I do remember reading that originally the director said the Mandarin was going to be in the movie but then it was changed to Iron Monger.

That definitely looks great. I can't wait for that one as well. Two Marvel movies back-to-back in the same year? Talk about being spoiled.

***The Ten Rings is connected to The Mandarin? I missed that connection and clue. All I know about him was from the animated movie. I did pick up on the reference to SHIELD at least. :)
I had been hoping that DK would put out a book about Iron Man like they have done for other characters. So far, I haven't found any sign of one.
