The Bottom Line -
(This here's a really sarcastic and admittedly rather short joke that I wrote in algebra class. And since it took two periods it had better go appreciated.)
A yente (read: nosy person in Yiddish) is walking down the sidewalk smelling the flowers and people-watching the way yentes do when she sees two five year old girls walk past her holding hands. She smiles at the two five year old girls. "Aren't you two cute!" she says to them. "Here, have some candy." And she passes them each a piece of candy and goes on her way.
A little farther down along this sidewalk she sees two ten year old girls holding hands. She looks at the two girls curiously for a second, then shakes her head and smiles. "Aren't you two cute!" she says. "Here, have some candy." And she passes them each a piece of candy and, once more, goes on her way.
Still farther down the sidewalk she sees two fifteen year old girls holding hands. She looks at them curiously for a second and then shakes her head and rolls her eyes. "You two are kind of cute," she says to them in a scolding tone. "It's a shame that...Well, there's nothing wrong with being close to your friends. I suppose that kind of thing is rather cute." And she passes them each a piece of candy, still going along on her way.
Then, where the sidewalk intersects with the busy road, she comes across two thirty year old girls holding hands. She looks at them curiously for a second and then shakes her head, rolls her eyes, and shudders. She does not speak for a long time, but glares at them accusingly. When they finally notice her and look over, she says in a very condescending tone, "That sh*t ain't cute."
Moral of the story: If you're under the age of thirty, it's okay to be a lesbian.
