The Bottom Line I miss Buffy, Angel, Cordelia, Xander, Willow, Giles, Fred, Lorne, Gunn... etc. etc.

Saturday night, I found myself sitting at home, waiting for 9:00. I am not normally a television watcher, and there are very few shows that I make a conscious effort to make time to watch (Scrubs is currently the only one). So what was on Saturday that had me determined that I wouldn’t miss it?

It was this blah movie called Cool Money. The story was good, but the delivery was subpar. But, it starred James Marsters. Aha! There are some of you out there who are now nodding your heads, in complete understanding.

We miss Buffy and Angel.

I mean, this isn’t the first time I’ve sat through questionable movies to get a Buffy Fix. I once watched an entire movie called Piņata: Survival Island just because it starred Nicholas Brendan.

So, Saturday night, after Cool Money was over, I thought to myself that I can’t be the only person who does this. I can’t be the only person who watched James Marsters shave his peroxide-bleached locks on Ryan Seacrest. I can’t be the only person who suffered through Darkness Falls just to support Emma Caulfield. I can’t be the only person who squealed with delight when they were watching Save the Last Dance and recognized Kendra the Vampire Slayer (c’mon, say it with the accent!) as the ex-girlfriend.

The Buffy/Angel fix Write-Off

Instead of six degrees to Kevin Bacon, give me the one degree to Buffy or Angel. Please, show me I’m not the only one out there who watches movies just because they star Buffy alum. Heck, I watched Lost the first time because two of the writers hail from Angel. I watched the first few (ha! only) episodes of Firefly because it was a Joss Whedon baby. I know there are a lot of you out there who read the Buffy books. I have some of the Watcher Guides, some of the action figures.

Review a product, movie, book or something that has anything to do with either Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Angel. Relate it any way you can, by cast member, crew member, matter content. Be straightforward if you like and review one of the DVD Seasons. Be tricky, and review The Justice League because Amy Acker once did a guest spot.

All I ask of you…

…is that you mention somewhere that this is part of the Buffy/Angel fix Write-Off (lead ‘em back to here, I’ll list the reviews here), and you explain how what you’re reviewing relates.

The Write-Off is officially open for business… and will close on April 22, 2005 (giving us all a month to pay tribute). Leave me a comment, or send me an email (srparis22@yahoo.com) to tell me you’re joining, lead me to your review or just to commiserate with me over the loss of two great shows!
