If you are looking for a personal video recorder system, this is the one for you. I have the Dish Network PVR150 plan. Costs run about 65.00 a month, with two tuners. One of the tuners is a standard satellite box, with a remote and access to over 200 channels. The other tuner is a Personal Video Recorder. This thing is awesome. It comes with a remote that changes channels, controls the tuner, controls the television, and can be programmed to control a VCR of auxiliary device. The PVR can record up to 35 hours of television. It has two recording modes. It automatically records up to 1 hour of the current program you are watching. You can pause and rewind the current program. Awesome. The other recording mode works much like a VCR. You can schedule recordings, by date, time, or type of program.
One flaw. You CANNOT record a live program and watch another live program. You CAN watch a recorded program and record a live program.
If you want satellite television and a personal video recorder, this is the system you want.
(One other small note, if you change your package with Dish Network, and go to a cheaper package of channels, you will be charged a one time 5.00 charge.)
