William-Sonoma has some very nice stuff which is why my wife and I chose to register there for our wedding, but the customer service has been so poor that it tainted everything else. We had a number of issues with trying to return duplicate items to the store, but one in particular stands out: A $200 platter was returned to the store, but we never received the credit (which you are supposed to get in the mail for internet returns). When we called, they said they had sent the credit, but upon further investigation they found they sent it to the wrong address (the address of the person who hosted the bridal shower). They issued a cancellation for the credit and said they would send us another merch card. This went on with multiple calls over multiple months with each conversation resulting in a promise to send us the merch credit. However, the card never came, and now they say the last card they issued to us was not only delivered, but had been used. When I asked who used the credit...it was the name of the person who hosted the bridal shower. Despite that, Customer Service insisted they sent it to my address so they would not give us the merchandise credit. For a company seemingly so concerned about customer service, this really surprises me. Anyway, I cannot recommend Williams-Sonoma to anyone becasue of this experience.
