Thanks to Garrett and all the Epinions staff for their hospitality and intelligent conversation. Thanks to all the Epinonators who turned up and made the day so pleasant.

Dear Paul: My "Comment Alert" doesn't work anymore.

In retrospect, then, I was saddened to hear of your father's death, glad you got to attend the New York Meet n' Greet, and concerned about your new tour of duty.

I'm afraid that I no longer have the funds to fly off to New York (or even Las Vegas), much as I might like to.

Let's hope that we shall meet each other one day.

In San Francisco?

Just let me know when you get back, wherever you are now.

Home temporarily on compassionate leave. My Dad passed away at 0910 Eastern on 25 February. I'm in FL now but heading back to NJ next Saturday and my Commander told me that he may have me replaced so that I don't have to return. Either that, if I do, he plans to cut my tour short.

I'm actually going to try to make the MNG in NYC on 25 March.

Will you be there? Would hope so.

I would very much like to meet you someday.

All the best,

Paul Connors

Thanks, pperky1954.

Sorry that my Comment Alert is not functioning very well.

I just received Clinton Heylin's DESPITE THE SYSTEM. He writes in a breezy style, befitting a biographer of Bob Dylan, and he does indeed quote and acknowledge me generously.

Thank you for your comment, and I hope you may attend an Epinions Meet n' Greet soon.

All the best.

That is really awesome, having your reviews mentioned in the magazine. You do have a wonderful way with words.

I am so glad yall had a good time, I certainly hope to attend one of the M&Gs one day.

Dear Mary: I've read your review of RED'S JAVA HOUSE, and your very personal connections to it. I even suggested to Epinions Management that they have the Meet n' Greet somewhere down on the Embarcadero. They picked Gordon Biersch's.

The best way to find out about the Meet n' Greets is to drop in at "The Member Center" once a week, to check the Announcements. There has just gone up one for the next Meet n' Greet: Washington, D.C., in May.

Sorry that you missed this one.

Ach, I should get more tuned in to these things. Could one of you inform me when the next one will take place?

I suggest Red's Java House as a possible meeting point, lots of space nowadays on the dock behind, if indoors it's too crowded or noisy.

See my review on RED'S, although ownership has changed in the last years but ambience is still old SF waterfront. If it's a sunny day, great.

Alex, how does one get informed of such meetings?

And my dear Doc: I think I missed your comment, first time through.

The latest pictures do indeed show us to be quite a crew!

Wayne is the handsome one, and not at all shy about finding any pretty woman in a room. I'm more sedate, but it does not seem to work quite so well as it used to.

Thank you and Tom for coming so far, and I trust that you will have many years of happiness together. You may even learn that their is life after Epinions!!

All the best.

Yes, ordinarily, the crab cakes would be about the last of the season -- fresh ones, anyway. This year, they are trying to limit, or at least, stagger their catch.

If they have another one here, you better "come on down" (or up) [or across].

Regards.

Thank you, Jan. Any recognition is good here, as you know.

F FOR FAKE has just come out on DVD, so keep looking for it. It's well worth viewing and contemplation.

Regards.

Indeed, Wayne!

And we did our part.

Perhaps, one day, Epinions will become so successful that they will fly you and me around the World as "good will ambassadors."

. . . waiting . . . .

Until "next year."

I'm so happy for ya. I'm not sure if I've read those reviews, but will. Wish Netflix had F For Fake. Very nice write-up.

I still have fond memories of those. Yum, yum! I remembered downing a few of those after a sales meeting up in the city.

I wish I could have made it.

(Is that not La Dolce Vita, S.F. Style?)

A fine party, indeed. And the fleece pullover was much appreciated; just the thing for our climate.

It was a pleasant surprise to see so many from out of town, as well as the exuberant Epinions staff. I look forward to next year's M&G!

Cheers,
Wayne

Maybe Swann's or P.J.'s Oyster House next time, or Joe's Fish House. I could only think of the expensive places when I was talking to Tom.

Hope you guys make another expedition soon.

It was indeed a pleasure to meet you and Wayne both. You are even more handsome than your picture!

I'm told that Christal has the pictures in hand now and will have them up shortly... Can't wait to see them!

Confiscating the San Remo would be a crime, Adrienne. Perhaps, they are only giving it Landmark Status, which it deserves.

I enjoyed the day, too, and I have not forgotten the mission you gave me. Like your report, it is still on the fire.

All the best.

.......for your kind words, Alex! It was terrific to finally meet you. We didn't get any lobster bisque that day, but we are still on our quest...ha! It was indeed a memorable time at the San Francisco Meet and Greet.

Hey, Alex. It was great seeing you again. I liked this M&G even better than the last. I've been working my report, but things were kind of hectic this weekend. Hope I'll see you at the next one too.

The San Remo has been in the news on KGO today, although I haven't been able to get the full gist of what it is about. I hope the city isn't trying to confiscate it.
