[Update 10/22/2001]
A software called MegaDoc crashed on me and I had to soft reset but some how it got hard reset. MegaDoc works very well but sometimes it crashes where I have to hard reset. Soft reset isn't possible. I am exploring getting another software called "Documents to Go" from DataViz. I read many good reviews regarding that software. However, when I synchronized the handset, everything came back. You see, when you do the hard reset, everything gets reset, the Palm thing.
Another note...
Screen is very hard to see during broad daylight. So, if you are planning to use it, be advised that it's hard to read. The leather case that came with the I300 isn't really for the portable use. You have to purchase optional leather casing to carry it around your belt-clip. So, that's something you have to purchase.
Many things work well but sometimes pressing the screen with the finger doesn't always get 100% if you have big hands like me. Screen is small but screen quality is much better than the Palm IIIc due to its smaller pixels.
Again, I highly recommend this product to anyone. A productivity gain on this product isn't PDA/PCS =2. It's much more like PDA/PCS = 2.5 to 3. Higher productivity and usage gains are worth getting this device
I-300 has a data port at then end of the phone like Palm that uses the rubber to enclose the port.

I have the phone, now! Love this thing or what...
First thing I noticed about this phone was its compact size. Lot smaller than I thought it would be. Excellent. The screen is little dim but it's okay. Also the screen is smaller but probably has better resolution screen than regular Palm IIIc. Also, either it's my Palm IIIc that has the problem or the Samsung's I-300 writes better. So, far it was hard for my I300 to miss any of my writing. Palm IIIc was really bad at getting my writing, correctly.
The Phone is well constructed and very tightly made.
By the way about the battery, battery is probably the best part of the phone. It comes with two batteries and, when the phone function is off, the battery bar goes up, and I bet it lasts just as long as regular Palm IIIc. But the it has the 4 hour talk battery life with the phone function on, which is great. Most phones don't even last 2 1/2 hours. So, battery complaint is unwarranted.
More update to come when I start using it... I will post frequent updates to this...
[10/15/2001: Update]
Product was shipped today and should be coming to my home tomorrow 10/16/2001. I can't wait. I300 is still back-logged. Either the phone is popular or supply is limited... I need to figure out what to do with my Palm-IIIc. By the way, Samsung Has new phone that came in Korea Market called ITodo. Here is the link on that : http://www.sec.co.kr/community/itodo/index.jsp

A Problem with the previous review is that the phone isn't available as of 10/11/2001. I order it 10/08/2001 from Sprint when it was first appeared on SprintPCS.com but it is now back-ordered. And I am not sure when I'll get it.
I been waiting for this phone since last March. This is like waiting for X-box to comeout...
About the Battery Life, according to SprintPCS Rep, it comes with 2 standard batteries. So, you can't really complain about the battery life. Also, this has phone functionality. Unless someone invents better battery, Samsung's battery is like everyone else's.
PCS phone has average batter life of 2.5 to 3 hour talk time/120 stand by time. So, if Samsung I300 gives you same time or bit more, than, that's good. Plus, it will come with two batteries... According to the spec. I300's standard battery will have 4 hour talk time/100 hour standby time. And If that's not enough, you can buy the "extended battery," which will have 5 hour talk time/144 hour standby time. So, I300 will last more than most PCS phones. So, in that respect I will give 5 stars for battery, if the spec holds true.
3 star is a neutral rating since I don't have it yet on my hand. But for the battery, i will give high mark, expecting that the spec will hold true.
I wrote this just to let you know that first review isn't completely correct, since phone isn't available, unless he is some sort of reporter. I will give you more detailed review when I get this phone. I can't wait.
