I'd have to track this machine down and review it to really know what it's like. The only way I review a machine is to have sufficient time with it or else I don't think it's fair to the consumer. What time frame are you looking for?

Help Please (Reply to this comment)
by byga85
Hi Jo,
I've been shopping for tredmills for about a month now and to be honest I'm still very confused. I finally found one that is within my budget and I believe it's a good buy. It's called Gold's Gym Maxx Crosswalk 650 Treadmill... My only concern is the reviews I've seen about the machine. There are a few that are not very good and include replacing parts and things that I would not want to be dealing with... could you please help me and see if this is a good buy?
I love working out and will be using this machine at least 4 to 5 days a week and I'm going to start training to run a 5k and hopefully build up to a marathon by next year!
Thank you for your help!

Thank you for the advice. I am looking to buy a treadmill from costco and I was wondering on what your thoughts were on the NordicTrack Commercial Folding Treadmill 20” x 60” Treadbelt. It seems like it is an ok one. I have never owned a trademill so I do not know what to look for. I wanted to walk and run on it. Thank you for your input.

I'm in the market for a treadmill. This review is excellent a huge help.

Jo, have you heard of a Treadmill called "Free Spirit"? I'm in Canada and it's sold here through Sears. It looks really good. I wondered if you knew anything about this name brand?

Thanks in advance.

Renee - perhaps your LifeCycle by LifeFitness most likely, which is a good name, is just made really well:) In any case if you need motivation, I'm here but I do know that walking on a treadmill can be really boring. It helps to get some good tapes or to walk when something really good is on tv! jo

Kath - thanks, just be careful running. At $49.95 and counting:) our bones and joints aren't what they used to be. Personally I think that the risk is not worth what we can get by raising the incline - but good luck! and I hope you can get to review the treadmill you bought. jo

I bought.... (Reply to this comment)

.....a very inexpensive treadmill a month ago. Unfortunately the brand isn't listed on eps, but eventually I pursue getting it added.

I'm only walking at 3 right now, with a desire to build up but I'm going at it slowly. Since I'm out of shape I know that I can't just jump to 5 and run...but I'll be glad when my body allows me to add a bit more speed. I'm workin on it. :)

Thanks for the great and very informative review....Make it a great day....kath

Decks do wear out. If you have been to a gym you will notice worn out decks.

Hahahaha... we have had our lifecycle (or whatever it is) treadmill for 10 years a bit and we haven't got worn out decks. I think that just goes to show how un-fit we all are!

shamefully (and plumply) yours,
Renee

MH from me, as well, young lady! Hubby and I could both use a new treadmill, having always used second hand equipment in the past. Your comprehensive article will come in handy when we start shopping around for the new one.

Great job!

Thanks Jo! This is great information, and certainly not something that the everyday exerciser is going to know. I was especially interested to read about the length and width of the treadmill belt. I use a different machine currently, but have contemplated getting something else for variety, and will refer to your piece in the future.

Thanks!
