I perhaps wish you had 'linked back' to . . . each film that you personally ranked at the bottom. But that would certainly be a lot more HTML crunchwork.
Thanks for the suggestion, Tom. I made the change you suggested.

If I were going outside the group of BAFTA winners, I would have headed the list with the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice and would also have included Monty Python and the Holy Grail. As an off-beat choice, I might also have included one of my personal favorites, Camomile Lawn. Restricting the list to BAFTA winners gives readers another perspective, namely the vantage point of a large number of people active in British filmmaking.

I'm sure that your joking, Stephen, considering that you're the guy who left a list of the Top-Ten films from 1939 (and a very interesting list at that) in the "Tear-jerker" category!

Looking at the comments here, might it not be a good idea to add a few lines for each of your actual Ten Best British Movies? That is actually what Epinions recommends you do.
As you suggest, the Ten Best British Movies may have little to do with those that the British Academy selects. For instance, THE RED SHOES (1948), arguably the best film ever made, was thought to be a turkey by the Rank Organization, and was overlooked by the British Academy.
Regards.

It's tempting (Reply to this comment)
by Stephen_Murray, in Movies
to rate this "Off topic," but there are at least 10 BRITISH films buried in this surfeit of information.

There are some awesome films listed here. I have been able to see about a third of these films. I look forward to seeing the rest of them. Thanks for the mention.

Haven't seen most of these, but The Ladykillers would be one of my favorites as well as The Lavendar Hill Mob. Loved The Bridge on the River Kwai and The Pianist too.

While I am usually not a big fan of lists . . .I think this one is very interesting ( and helpful ) indeed.
I perhaps wish you had 'linked back' to your comments in the reviews about each film that you personally ranked at the bottom. But that would certainly be a lot more HTML crunchwork.
I assume for the 'other users' reviews' you picked what you thought the best of those available here? And were there films that you thought another user's review 'more helpful' than your own..? That might be the real test of your security in the value of your work.
Anyway, it's late, the clocks are ready to 'spring forward', I should be sleeping. Very nicely done, despite my minor quibbles above.
