Pros: Whoa! Sims are going downtown!
Cons: None really, unless you don't like the original game "The Sims"
The Bottom Line: This is the best expansion for "The Sims". Now there is a new world out there waiting for your Sims.

The Sims and Sequels (Livin' Large & House Party) have sold millions of copies and entertained us for hours. Many user contributed downloads like new skins, objects, walls, floors etc. made the game even more interesting. But for most of us the game lost its challenge 'cause we already knew all the possible cheats and therefore knew how to create our perfect Sim people with many talents and provide them with unlimited amount of money. We could get them interact with each other as much as we wanted, but it was a little too easy to get really high relationships.Homes were the only possible areas for them to hang around. No more goals were there to achieve.And the thrill was gone.
"Hot Date" is bringing us new frontiers; finally we will be able to create for each neighborhood a downtown with shops,restaurants and amusement areas and get our Sims out of their homes and give them real social lives. We will let them call the "New Taxi Company" and go downtown. We'll build the downtowns to our heart's content, with mall, shops, beach, park, bars, disco,restaurants etc. (while your Sim is shopping he/she might wanna buy a copy of the game called the Zims :)
"Hot Date" is all about dating, so we will make our Sims as charming as possible :) Over 40 new methods for interacting with other people (even a kiss is no more that simple;there will be different kinds like hand kiss, fiery dip kiss, very romantic hold-the face kiss, suave kiss, passionate and polite kisses )Hot Date measures relationships by both a daily and lifetime rating which makes it more challenging.When you let your Sims talk you can choose the subject, let them gossip , brag about themselves or insult each other in many ways. Interests in 8 new fields like romance,politics, arts,celebrities,travel, money,exercise etc. have been added and your Sim has always the chance to improve him/herself if that's what it takes to get a date.
Unlike the original game where we were totally in control of all the members of a family in "Hot Date" we won't be able to control our Sims' companion in downtown.If his/her requirements are not met he/she will walk out.
One of the funniest interactions is the "extreme tickle", if you tickle someone who has a low bladder, he/she will wet him/herself. There are now 125 new objects like the giant aquarium, porch swing, koi pond or the industrial stove , but you need to get the other packs for the other objects.Sims can wash, cuddle and "play" with each other in the Love Tub, play with boats in the Fish Pond or get a little closer on the Cuddle Couch.For us not getting lost with so many objects item categories have been subdivided (for instance art is now rugs, sculptures, plants etc.)
Get ready to meet new characters as well including a nerd, a hottie, a jock and lounge lizard.
You can give a new look to homes and landscape with new fences, windows, doors,plants or replace grass with sand.
You just need the original game for this add-on to work, but the other two add-ons make the game so much nicer ;)
"Hot Date" will be released on November 14, 2001
Price is expected to be under $30 like the other expansion packs,which seems to be a decent amount to pay for a PC game of such caliber. The rating is still pending. (most likely T)
Important note: The final version isn't out yet, hence I didn't get the chance to test the final product and don't know if we're going to experience technical difficulties or not. The ***** rating is in regard to the content of the game.
