Hi Robb,
Thanks for reading! Lots of changes going on here in Baton Rouge! You should see the downtown area...slowly but surely rennovation is taking over. Lots of new State buildings. Still waiting on the rennovation of the Old Capitol House...and Huey's ghost to reappear!!!

I wasn't thinking you should include specific details of this school, just some general discussion that would help people decide between the community college or university... something like, "before enrolling in a CC, it's important to be aware of what schools they have matriculation agreements with," or, "because of the lack of on-campus residency, CC campus life is very different from University campus life. Some things to look for include..."
I don't want to put words in your mouth, but since this article is meant to help students choose between community college or university (in general - not really 2 specific schools) I think it would be important to discuss all the factors that would be important in making that decision.
Again, this is just my opinion and as this review has an overall VH you may decide that updating is unimportant.

Thanks, Patricia. I'm planning on doing a review on the Community College soon. It will address admissions policies and requirements.
Thanks for reading :)

That will be addressed in a future review of the college. I didn't feel that this was the proper place to go into details about the school since it wasn't the total subject.

Sawry. :-( What I was wondering was about their admission requirements. One of my sons wanted to go to Auburn which requires at least a 22 ACT score. He made above 22 in everything except english, which was a pathetic 14 or something like that which kept him from going there. So he enrolled into the community college nearby with plans to switch over after the first year and good grades. I was wondering what kind of enrollment requirements this CC had. LOTS of good info otherwise here. Good luck to your daughter and I hope she enjoys her college years.

You've done a good job explaining what went into the decision for your family, but you haven't said anything about differences in the learning environment, differences in curriculum, or differences in the on-campus experience and student life. It might also be helpful to discuss the transfer of credits from a community college to a university and making sure your college has a matriculation agreement with the university you want to eventually attend.
Just some thoughts - obviously other opinions differ.

Reading your great advice certainly made me homesick. BR is my hometown. I worked at the BRFD for 15 years--most of those at the station very near BRCC, on the N.Foster @ N. Blvd. BRCC was opening about the time I moved away. I attended LSU for both my undergrad & grad degrees. I mourn the loss of the old Coffee Call--my study spot and I always get chills when the Golden Band from Tigerland stopped amidst the crowd between the stadium and the PMAC---the drums started and then....DAH...DAH.DAH..DAA
Robb--in the marsh below New Orleans.
