I've been a Crutchfield customer for many years. I like that they have the newest products, with detailed descriptions in the printed and online catalog, and the ordering process is second to none. With a 30-day return policy and free return shipping, plus fast delivery, I often turn to Crutchfield even though I know I can usually find the products elswhere at somewhat lower prices...
... but not always. Sometimes Crutchfield surprises you with sale prices that beat a lot of the web discount stores. Most recently, I bought a cordless phone from them for $199 and free shipping. This phone had a list price of $299 and most web stores, even the "lowest price" minimalist stores, wanted $220 or more.
It also pays to browse Crutchfield's Outlet and "Scratch and Dent" store. A couple of years ago, I found there the Sony TA-E9000ES and TA-N9000ES that I was looking for at several hundred dollars off the regular price. (Not to mention that Crutchfield is about the ONLY web store to sell Sony ES gear!) With nothing to lose, I ordered them and was absolutely delighted.
Crutchfield's telephone staff is knowledgeable and helpful - I've called with car stereo installation questions and always came away satisfied.
Shipping charges are quite reasonable - just $4.95 for orders under $100 with a maximum of $13.95 for orders of $400 and up. (Some exclusions apply, and some product lines offer free shipping.) Orders are delivered promptly (2-3 days, usually), and Crutchfield offers easy online order tracking.
Credit cards accepted include not only the standard Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Discover, but also Diners Club, Optima and Carte Blanche. Personal checks, money orders and "Western Union Quick Collect" are also accepted.
Yes, you can (sometimes) pay less elsewhere. But the quality of service and wide selection keeps leading me back to Crutchfield.
