| rezetpc's Full Review: Nokia 8890 GSM Cellular Phone |
What makes a mobile phone desirable? Is it suave looks, a quality feel, an extensive features list or size that really matters? Nokia's dual-band 8890 has all the qualities.
There's voice dialling and infra-red PC connection for e-mail and fax on the move, although the built-in modem is rather slow, capable of a slothful 9,600 bps at best. Browse through the menu system and you'll also discover a suite of games, alarm clock, calendar, currency converter and predictive text input. Check out the top of the phone though and what a shocker - an ugly, plastic knob! This wiry, cheap-looking aerial has been added for US compatibility since the US networks use a slightly different radio frequency to us Brits.
