The rebirth of the obsolete tandy computer line

Apr 25 '05

The Bottom Line Do not purchase Dell products is my recommendation. If they do not want to support advancing technology then they are better left to the cemetery of the obsolete.

Long ago and far away Radio shack came up with a computer line of it's own. Namely the tandy computer. What was most obnoxious about the tandy computer and I 'm sure the source of its ruin was the fact that it could only run one brand of software, deskmate.

Now 20 years into the evolution (and expansion?) of the computer industry along comes Dell the sinking behemoth propelled solely by marketing scams and hand holding techniques to re invent the forever obsolete tandy.

Anyone who knows anything about MSDTC and DCOM will also know that those technologies are almost never used by the average consumer, yet windows Xp (xspy) forces both their presence and constant active state.

So Dell, towing the PC market creation line, endeavors to force consumers to use ONLY windows xp (xspy) by selling computers whose hardware device drivers only work with windows xp (xspy).

So essentially what Dell has accomplished is the re invention of Software specific hardware exactly like the then and now obsolete tandy computer line of radio shack.

Thanks Dell.
