When will my beloved write an Epinions review again? More than three years without my dear lover's great writing on this site is too long!

I have posted a unique perspective on the matter of gay marriage at the following link: http://www.epinions.com/content_4419985540
Those interested in hearing from more than one side on the issue are encouraged to check it out.

there are morons who are protesting gay marriage when fucking genocide is still a reality. Seriously, if a meteor hits this planet and wipes out everything above the cockroach, it won't be a problem as much as a solution.
Fuck, why couldn't I have just said that in lieu of my almost two page response?
Thanks for this,
Shannon

Darling Lover. You told me to check this out, so I did, and I have some comments.
About traditional marriage. Yes, it is expensive, but common-law ones aren't. Remember? : )
And regarding this:
> Oh, sure, the first seems to contradict Christ's
> famous rhetoric about "loving thy neighbor" or
> "let he who is without sin cast the first
> stone", but he was also like "If any man come
> to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and
> wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters,
> yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my
> disciple." (Luke 14:26). Contradiction is a
> huge part of Christian tradition.
We went over that one before. I believe you have used an imprecise translation, and taken the verse out of context.
> extremist Christian and Muslim communities
This is more precise usage. Religious extremists should be separated from good followers. I know you cannot stand the former, but your cynicism manifests itself by not mentioning the latter much. : /
> Come on, these are people who think the world is
> gonna end even though science has revealed that
> this galaxy alone is full of BILLIONS of stars
> and worlds.
I don't see how those two parts connect with your one premise. Life in this world could very well be devastated by nuclear warfare, an asteroid - and, if not soon, then the sun IS going to lose much of its power after a few billion years, and whatever life that may remain then probably won't be able to continue its life without the presence of the sun as we are used to it.
> The best you're going to get is "OMIGOD, some
> man's about to say 'I do' while thinking about
> another man's penis! It's the end of the human
> race! Hey, wait, is that another genocide in
> Africa? Never mind that, get back to the penis!"
I do understand where you are coming from here - people often lose sight of priorities. I read one woman today in a newspaper who said that contraception is one of the world's "great evils." What? People wanting to ensure that they do not breed when they are not ready to take care of a child is evil? Sounds more like responsibility to me. I'd say that murders and pedophiles are far more deserving of being termed "great evils."
As far as governments, it's this simple: people are imperfect, so we can expect government to be imperfect as well.
> Simple. Make it a felony to teach ANY religion
> to a minor.
I do hope you are being sarcastic here. If not, then I expect better from one of your mental standing.

P. S. In spite of our disagreements, you are still loved. : )

nihilism (Reply to this comment)

interesting thought process, and completely valid. I don't think much of marriage either, now that I think about it. And you are right. It IS a small problem compared to the others on the planet. Of course the people involved in their own lives may see the gay marriage thing as a problem-but does it need to be a federal law?
The holocauset, the genocide continuing -all attrocities proving the nature of man-so depressing. How close are we, I wonder to expressing that kind of hatred and violence? Thanks for your thought provoking essay here.
I enjoyed it.
