Sprint claims that center city Philadelphia is all covered. It's a lie: try using your phone in the Art Museum area, for example at an intersection of Green and 23rd. On the average, if you manage to make a call, you get about 30% dropped words and then the call will be dropped inevitably. You'd be lucky if you can speak 3 minutes.
I've been using Sprint PCS since January 1999 and everything seemed to be fine until about a month or two ago. They refuse to explain what's going on and if they are planning to fix it and when. I would switch to another provider, but unfortunately it's very important for me to keep my current phone number. I hope they will meet the FCC deadline by February 2002 that requires providers to implement a system in which a customer can keep his/her number while switching between local providers.
BTW, they offer compensation for dropped calls - for each dropped call you get one minute added to your account for the current month. It takes 3 minutes to provide them with all your data and go through all their options to get ONE extra MINUTE compensation for a dropped call where you could be discussing 1k worth of business.
