Medical advancements provide miracles daily. For Sydney Wells, a corneal transplant enables to her see the world for the first time since she was five. Not everything she sees is of this world.

Jessica Alba plays Sydney Wells, a blind concert violinist. After receiving a corneal transplant she must adjust to colors and shapes she hasn't focused on since childhood. The process becomes even more stressful when she witnesses a shadow escorting people from the world of the living.

It’s All in Your Head

Alessandro Nivola plays Dr. Paul Faulkner, a psychiatrist who specializes in helping transplant recipients adjust to the seeing world. He tries to convince Sydney her perceptions can’t be trusted yet, but she knows something else is at work.

Things become more than she can handle when she experiences events of weeks before as if they were happening at that moment. She hides from the world until Dr. Faulkner agrees to help her locate the family of her donor.

A Good Film

The Eye is good and I found myself on the edge of my seat more than once. The effects are great and Alba brings Sydney to life in a believable manner. One problem I had was with the Dr. Faulkner character. He was a bit too harsh; compassion seemed to be missing, at least on the surface. I can’t say it’s a fantastic movie but I would watch it again.
