These online travel agencies suck: (Reply to this comment)

I had a really bad experience using EXPEDIA.COM that I decided to run a website
( http://www.victimsofexpedia.com ) to alert as many people as I can about how Expedia works to steal money from customers.

Re: Travelocity: ALWAYS (Reply to this comment)

So nice to see the TRAVELOCITY reps have nothing better to do than sign onto Epinions with fake name to try to bash customers who have a negative opinion of them
Just so you know, had you been paying attention to the news, the web, or the radio during that time, you would understand that American Airlines BOUGHT TWA! You noticed that your flight times were the same, only the flight numbers changed. That's because it was the same bloody flight. With AA flight numbers instead of TWA ones. Oh.. and it might have been departing at a different gate. But that happens all the time, and you don't know what gate you'll be at until you check in.
I think I said I was paying attention - this is what made me start calling to try to find out what was going on. The flight numbers were not the same, and only one of the times was. So I guess you can't read for comprehension either?
I know for a fact that Travelocity did call each and every one of the customers affected by this. And I'm willing to bet you got a call after you posted this review.
I did get a call less than two weeks before my departure date. Maybe YOU would be willing to sit around on the faith of the airlines that the mess would be straightened out, but I'm not.
They work by departure date. Your reservation was not the only one that this happened to. They have over 25,000 bookings made a DAY. Imagine half of those were TWA, as most days they are. Now imagine having to call everyone flying from October 6th through May 30th to advise them of the change. Imagine you had just closed a call center because of the effects of September 11th. And imagine that 5 other airlines that post their info on your site have closed, and you've got valid bookings for them too. I think they've done a pretty good job in the wake of September 11th, and the nightmare it has caused the nation's travel industry.
See, I worked software development in the freight Forwarding industry for many years. I know how easy it would be to send an email out to anyone who booked an TWA trip through Travelocity. It's a targeted mail - they do it all the time to advertise. It should be very easy to do in a situation like this - if people like you were doing that instead of spending your time on these little rants.
And just so you know, yes, you bought those tickets through travelocity. But they are still TWA/AA tickets, not travelocity's tickets. The company has no say in what happens to the flights, the times, or the tickets themselves. Get over yourself, hon. Wake up to how the travel industry works before you get yourself in a huff.
If this is the way Travelocity's reps act, then I guess I have my answer as to why it happened. You spoke for yourself and the company very well.
I know how travel works, hon. I was probaby working there while you were cracking your gum and cheating on your finals in Junior High.

I was distinctly asked by the agent at TWA if I had been contacted by Travelocity and told that I should have been.
All we as consumers are instructed to do is reconfirm a few days before our flight. Had I waited that long, I don't know what would've happened.
I don't think it's asking too much for them to send out an email to everyone who is booked on TWA out of JFK telling them that they no longer fly out of there. It would be as easy to do as targeted advertising.

just a thought.... (Reply to this comment)

But I thought that checking flights was the passengers responsability, not the travel agent. No offense meant but that's what I feel, we can't leave everything up to someone else, or nothing would get done/work/anything.
And check out www.flycheap.com, or www.orbitz.com I have found both find very low fares, but I don't think they would contact you if something comes up, once the tickets are in your hands, they are your tickets.

Just a suggestion... (Reply to this comment)

I also check several of the travels sites you mentioned when making plane reservations, but have always found www.cheaptickets.com to have the best deals. I would suggest that you add them to your list for any future trips.
Thanks for a nice review!
