I bought the Sirius Radio service a month ago, paid all the fees & gave a credit card for monthly billing. Sirius sends an email saying my account is past due-I don't get it 'cos it's tied into a credit card. I scrutinize it in case I'm being phished & check my on-line Sirius account which says it's PASTDUE-make a payment. I phone billing & the attendant is clear & quick; tells me I was charged for $12.95 on 7/1/08 & now I owe a payment. by the way, she can't find my account w/my phone # or any of the phone#s I can think to give her so I use the account# from the email & press '0' for a rep. It's Sunday a.m. & I'm promptly transferred to a young guy who answers "Why are you calling me @ work?". I don't know what to say 'cept "Is this Sirius?" Which I guess sounds like 'Are you serious?" He asks me again why I'm calling him @ work & I don't say anything 'cos I'm confused. Then he chuckles & says "Oh, can't you take a joke?". I told him not this early in the morning. He never told me I had Sirius, never apologized that the joke didn't go over & never said his name. He tells me I need to make a payment & what's your credit card #. I'm alarmed & tell him I don't know so he tells me the last 4 digits which I recognize as my card. I guess I'm not being phished & repeat the card# as he asks. He tells me it's not past due but that I need to call in to 'authorize' the credit card payment. "What? I have to do this every month?". "That's not what I said", he tells me "just sometimes there's a glitch in the system". I thank him 'cos I'm a Baby Boomer w/manners & frantically check my Sirius on-line account again which now shows the 7/1/08 charge of $12.95 & the 7/6/08 credit of $12.95. I also see there's a typo on my phone# & correct it. I'm relieved that I wasn't phished but now I'm irritated & feel I need to check my credit card statement daily. Think it would've done any good to ask for his name & supe?
