We bought our SC2 New. For an 11 year old car, with 82,000 miles, we've had basically no problems. We are on our 3rd set of tires, but still the original brakes!
We bought the car and have had all the service done at the local dealer and found that they live up to the Saturn "no hassle" reputation. They even was the car every time we bring her in!
This is our second Saturn. The first was an early model SC that we loved as well but traded up to the SC2 as our old one had 100,000 miles and was starting to burn oil. We loved our first Saturn, so buying another as a replacement was a no brainer.
The SC2 model has more head room than our early SC and overall is a comfortable and fun car to drive. I used to commute (fortunately weekly) 100 miles each way between my home and job and found the comfort adequate for me and 1 passenger (I'm 5'10" and now 190 pounds. I was up to 230 before I retired and the car was still comfortable). It would be even better if the front seat could go back another few inches. I would think that folks over 6 feet tall may want to make sure the car fits them before buying.
As others have reported, the rear seat is pretty tight and I would not subject anyone (that I liked) to it for a long drive.
Cargo capacity is great for a car this small, especially with the rear seat down - but it is a Sports Coupe and not a hatchback or SUV.
The only thing that actually broke on the car in all this time is the plastic drivers seat belt stand off bracket, but with the seat back where my wife and I keep it (she's 5' 5"), we never bothered replacing it.
The flow through the A/C has reduced over the years and I think that there may be some dirt/leaves in the ducts that needs to be cleaned out - but otherwise everything works like new!
