This is my entry into CaptainD's Write-Off on Epinions Categories and which ones we find the most fun to write in. What Category have you had the most success in? Well if success is measured in hits, then I would have to say that Movies is my most successful category, because a lot of my external hits come from that category. I have written the most reviews in that category as well, so there could be a link between quantity of reviews and quantity of hits. My most popular review in Movies is actually of my Favorite Movie : Once Upon A Time In the West. I wrote it a while ago now, but it still brings in a lot of off-site hits. Maybe because I wrote it up well, or maybe just because it is a popular Western. I guess the only people who know are the ones that click through to read it :) What Category do you write the best reviews in, overall? My Education reviews are all about advice, and my movie reviews are all about using my expertise in the category to give a good recommendation. But when it comes down to my best overall category, I would have to choose a category that relies more on facts than opinion, and that would be Online Services. If there is a web-site that I find very helpful, or I enjoy using, when I decide to write a review on it, it is stacked with facts and uses that the site provides. It becomes less about opinion and more about what the site or service has to provide to the users. From there I expound upon my opinion, but the basis is all relying on the facts that I present, and thus gives a better all-around feel for the site. What Category do you Enjoy writing in the most? The category that I love to write the most in is Education. I love being able to give my opinion about something that I know a lot about, and it gives me a lot of pride to think that my reviews are being read, and lending help to people who are interested in furthering their education by attending college. I have a lot of experiences that can be related through Epinions, and I really like putting down into words the thoughts and advice that I have running through my head. Its not only fun, but if it is helpful to other people, it becomes very rewarding. The reward comes when you find someone has read your review, sends you an e-mail with further questions, and you are able to give them person-to-person assistance on their potential college career. What category do you feel most passionately about? My most passionate category actually has two answers. I write passionately in both Movies and Education, and I think that I have a lot to offer both categories. I love just sitting back to watch a film, and I love to write about them, so at times I even find myself finishing out a terrible film, just so I can give a honest review about how it turned out. On the flip side, we have Education, where I enjoy telling stories about my own experiences and providing them in a fashion that is helpful to other people. Both evoke a lot of emotion from me, and thus I find both categories to be passionate for me.
