The Food Lover's Write-Off What is your favorite: 1. Soft Drink Cola. I am partial to Coca-Cola, but Pepsi or Royal Crown are fine too. People that HAVE to have a certain cola make me laugh. 2. Ice Cream Flavor Breyer's Vanilla Bean. Call me plain and boring, I don't care. This stuff is fantastic. 3. Fast Food Restaurant Arby's. Better for you than grease burgers, you can get a baked potato, and if you need a fried fix, their cheese sticks are as good as any out there. Anyone remember Rax? It was better than Arbys, but most of them are gone. 4. Type of Pizza Sausage Mushroom & Pepperoni, from darn near ANY parlor in Chicago. Deep dish / thin it's all good, baby. 5. Thanksgiving Dinner Dinner in the country at Grandma's farm was always: Turkey, noodles, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing (2 kinds, plain and w/ oysters), hot rolls, cranberry sauce, REAL butter, apple pie, pumkin pie and peach cobbler. People didn't stop eating, they simply collapsed into their chairs, usually with one last forkfull of food in their hand. 6. Snack Food Nacho Cheese Doritos. The king of salty, crunchy snacks. 7. Side Dish Fresh green beans, fried with bacon and onions. Somewhat healthy and it tastes great. 8. Food to Eat While Driving McD's double cheeseburger and fries. Terrible for you, but easy to hold and the taste is addictive. It's a good thing I have my dad's metabolism or I'd weigh a ton. 9. Food for Breakfast Bacon and eggs 10. Sit-Down Restaurant If you mean a chain, I vote Applebee's. The prices are reasonable, the food is pretty good, the atmosphere is pleasant and the menu has something for everyone. And they have a full bar if you want a drink. It's not outstanding in any one area, but they do everything well. Romano's Macaroni Grill is even better, but I have to drive 100 miles to get to one. 11. Italian Dish Manicotti 12. Chinese Dish Not into Asian food - I get hungry too soon. 13. Sandwich Anyone have a Jimmy John's nearby. The Italian Night Club is killer. All the naughty meats and some of the best french bread you can find. 14. Cheese All of them. Mozzarella, feta, blue cheese, swiss, muenster, gorganzola....stop me, I'm salivating. 15. Donut Krispy Kreme, served warm. Perhaps the closest I've come to orgasm when sliding a piece of food into my mouth. The sugary warmth envelops your tongue and you can feel it as it slides in and down your throat. mmmmmmm. 16. Type of dessert In deference to my elders, grandma's apple pie. But a flourless death by chocolate cake is always yummy. 17. Type of Cake See No. 16. 18. Vegetable Sweet corn on the cob. It's only available for a limited time, so each cob is savored. With butter, salt & pepper. 19. Fruit Grannysmith apples...tart and sweet, but heavy on the tart. 'Nuff said. 20. Food In Bed Hmmmmm. I must say, I get eaten in bed as much as I eat in bed. I'll go way out on a limb and say concentrated protein shots. 21. Beer Samual Adams Boston Lager. Hard to go back to Bud and Miller after getting used the golden brown nectar that is Sam Adams. 22. Drink With Dinner Bombay sapphire martini, very dry, clean or dirty, but with lots of olives. They knock me on my butt, but I never feel it when I hit. 23. Fruit Juice Who drinks fruit juice?. OK, Tropicana Pure Premium OJ. Pretty much as good as fresh squeezed. and Finally... 24. What is your favorite meal? Shrimp cocktail appetizer, then salad, medium steak, green beans w/ bacon & onions and a baked potato.  |
