No communication, Don't have what they sell in-stock

Ikitchen.com sells items that they cannot deliver. After waiting eight months for an item that to this day shows on their website as on sale, I finally cancelled my order. Here is the whole story.
9 November 2007 - I placed an order for a Cuisinart six slice waffle maker. I did not realize it was a re-manufactured unit at that time, but that was my fault. The page is clear at the bottom. I still wanted it. Ikitchen.com website states Usually ships in 2-3 business days. Well after waiting, I assumed maybe it was back ordered. I found this on their website:
Unlike most other Internet retailers, We attempt to carry a full inventory for every product we sell. This means that when we say an item is in stock, we mean it. In rare cases however, we may take your order and then discover that the product is not available for shipping (i.e., it is damaged or defective). In this case, we will notify you via e-mail that it is on backorder and do our utmost to fulfill the order as soon as possible.
I received nothing from them. After Thanksgivings approximately 2 ½ weeks later I emailed them asking about an order status. Three days later my response was they were out of stock but anticipated shipping soon. Fast forward eight months to July 2008. 7 July 2008 I emailed them again inquiring about status. This item has been on sale for every holiday period since last year, and that day it was part of their ׂth of July sale. Today it is part of their Christmas in July sale. Maybe I got lost in their system, but my order confirmation number showed nothing and I had never heard from them again, except the daily spam into my email inbox (you are automatically subscribed to their email sales page which tend to come almost daily). Two days later I received an email from them stating they still did not have the item.
Eight months I waited passing up anniversaries, the holiday season, birthdays, etc. I decided to wait no more and cancelled my order. About the only good part of my experience was when they did reply within 24 hours that my order had been canceled upon my request. I would have easily looked at and possibly purchased a new one, or an alternative remanufactured one from them if they communicated their situation and let me know what was in-stock. Instead, they did absolutely nothing for this previous customer, I had to email them from the very beginning and ask about my order. I never received a back order email. It has been a frustrating experience that I wish to share with future Ikitchen.com customers. I recommend to ask if it is in stock prior to ordering. You may have to wait a few days for the email response though. They have no phone number to call, only email or fax.
