What I buy:
Mineral makeup eyeshadows and pigments. I'm a former MAC pigment lover, but these are a costly habit to keep up. Aromaleigh gives me a chance to obsess over tons of colors and not burn my wallet. There are three other small mineral/pigment companies I shop with that do have some really unique colors, but their long, long wait times keep me from buying as much as I would like. This company offers a combination of extremely fast order filling with a huge selection of colors to choose from. I know that when I place an order I will get it within a week, not 6 weeks.
Prices:
Samples and full-sizes are reasonable, although not as cheap as the other companies I mention. This could be for a few reasons. Aromaleigh's eyeshadows and pigments come in jars with stickers on tops and bottoms, and they also have sifters with seals. This makes using them very mess-free. Other companies don't put in the sifters. I've dropped a few jars and lost everything. Sifters and neat packaging are professional and important, so I don't mind spending a little extra for this.
There are sales and coupons that make the prices better, so this makes the prices lower, too. I sign up for the newsletter list and get the daily blog via RSS reader in my inbox so if there is a sale or new code I know about it right away.
What I love:
The products I currently recommend are the Pure Hues pigments ($5.75 each- $4.31 on sale )- these are pure pots of bright and shimmering pigments in a rainbow of colors, that you can mix in with anything. My favorites are Watermelon, Mystery, Peacoat, Glimmer and Magic Wand. I have samples of most of these (you can get samples of everything for a reasonable price). I also recommend the Elemental Lustres eyeshadow ( $8.00 each- $6.00 on sale ). These are metallic frosts, they go on so smooth and satiny, like a liquid metal and look wet and shiny, but they are really pretty and not too "young". Anyone can wear these, and they come in so many neutral colors. I wear Spark, Blast, Wonder and Entangle almost every day. These frosts are so pretty combined with a brighter color. My most recent love is the Gothic Lolita Eye collection ($8.00 each- $6.00 on sale). I did not think these would be for me, but I tried a few samples and these colors are very unique and just gorgeous on. They look like they could be hard to wear, but they are very pigmented, smooth and layerable. Favorites are Divine Intervention, Lush Memoir and Purple Princess.
What I don't love:
I love, love, love Aromaleigh's eyeshadows and pigments, but I didn't fall in love with the foundation. I prefer a high-coverage foundation and the samples I tried did not work for me like this. If this company would make a high coverage foundation in their color 2WL, I would be in heaven! The matte finish is perfect, but older women need more to cover up their not so perfect skin.
Shipping:
My orders arrive very quickly and this is a big plus for me, as the other mineral/pigment companies I order from often have lead times of 6-8 weeks for a same type of product.
Customer Service:
I get email confirmation and shipping confirmation for my orders, and only had a problem with an order once. I was missing an eyeshadow. I emailed the website and was contacted that the color would be sent right out with an apology. I received it along with a free sample. It did not take long. I have not had any problems other than this, it was handled professionally.
I'd like to try:
Lipglosses, blushes, Rocks sonic eyes shadows and some brushes.
