My entry in the Epinions categories W/O

The Bottom Line Categories... categories...
Here is my entry in captaind's Epinions Categories W/O.
What category have you had the most success in?
If success translates into page hits, then it would have to be Games, followed by Books. This is at once pleasant and surprising. When I initially joined Epinions in July 2004, I expected the bulk of my reviews to cater towards books and movies. But thanks to some truly interesting game reviewers on Epinions - I'm especially thinking of kjell1979 and flash-hammer here - I took my consoles out of the closet, started playing again and felt the urge to read and write about games. I even managed to make them an integral part of my professional life... that's another story, but Epinions (and the two reviewers I mentioned) clearly played a role in this.
What category do you write the best reviews in, overall?
That's not for me to judge. :) But if I had to choose a category, I might go with Music. Most of my (relatively few) music reviews dealt with ambient albums... music that it at once easy and difficult to write about. Easy because it conveys so much, but difficult because it must first and foremost be experienced, and not described. Here are two samples for those interested: reviews of Tangerine Dream's Alpha Centauri (1971) and Zeit (1972). I usually find Music reviews somewhat tougher to write than pieces in other categories, hence the paltry number of music reviews I have written thus far.
What category do you enjoy writing in the most?
Every category can be enjoyable if I have an interesting product/work to write about. For instance, I've had just as much fun writing about (pardon the links...) Swamp Thing comics, a book on the Neoplatonist Iamblichus, the video game Marble Madness and the film Mr. Arkadin... If I had to choose only one, I might go with Books, since I can tackle such a wide diversity of works there (from comics to "acknowledged classics" to books on philosophy, religion, modern art, etc.).
What category do you feel most passionately about?
I guess my three main categories (Books, Games and Movies) would have to tie for that award, especially when reviewers dare to bend their "unwritten rules". I feel that game reviews can be very entertaining and stimulating when the reviewer strays away from the strict graphics / sound / control / fun factor structure, and chooses to include personal anecdotes, parallels with other art forms and the like; similarly, book and movie reviews can also be enthralling when plot summaries are not made out to be the crux of the matter. So all three categories have tremendous potential in my opinion.
