I saw that film many years ago, when it finally made its way to the US. If I remember correctly, "Bye Bye Brazil," which director Carlos Diegues made later, made its way to US cinemas before "Xica." Still, I remember this as a pretty decent film. Besides, others had already gone with the "X-Men" series, as well as the first "xXx" movie (I did not see the sequel). Metalluk recently did a fine write-up on "Xica." I hope that that further convinces you to see this film.
