A Food Lover's Write-Off!May 29 '05 Write an essay on this topic.The Bottom Line Yum! Hi all, Ok, I haven’t written in quite a while. I’ve just been really busy. Four hours of my day is spent commuting just taking my little one to school and back along with German lessons, volunteer work and the usual house cleaning, errands (all done by walking where I need to go) etc….The basics take up a ton of my time. However, I read Kathy’s entry and just had to join. I’ve tried so many new foods but find I tend to fall back on what I’ve grown up with. :O) If you'd like to join this WO just head over to three-ster's to pick up the link. The Food Lover's Write-Off What is your favorite: 1. Soft Drink – Rivalla (red) A Swiss soda made with *Milk* (Yes, I know it sounds gross) it tastes a bit like a sweet & sour apple. YUM! 2. Ice Cream Flavor-Cherry cordial especially Homemade brand I would buy in Ohio. My 2nd fav is Peanut Butter Chip-Same brand. I wish I could get it here in Switzerland. 3. Fast Food Restaurant-???Not big on fast food especially since I’ve moved to Switzerland. 4. Type of Pizza-If I’m in the states I like the Buffalo Chicken Pizza from Pizza Hut. Here in CH I usually get Pizza Margaritas in English that’s Cheese Pizza. They do like fancy names for the pizza’s here. They also like Tuna pizza…Hand me the barf bag please. Oh and Pizza USA has corn on it. EEEEWWWWWWW! 5. Thanksgiving Dinner-All the traditional stuff but mostly the cornbread stuffing and cranberry sauce. 6. Snack Food – Oh gosh, let’s see, it kinda depends on the time of year. In the winter I like hot tea and chocolate covered rice cakes or tea biscuits if it summer I like watermelon or fresh coconut. 7. Side Dish –Cornbread stuffing or fresh asparagus with garlic butter 8. Food to Eat While Driving-I take the train but dried apricots or cereal bars are a great snack while riding it. 9. Food for Breakfast – Bircher muesli—yogurt with apple strips, nuts and berries along with a very hot cup of very strong, sweet English breakfast Tea. 10. Sit-Down Restaurant-Suen Long China Restaurant. They have the BEST sweet & sour beef! 11. Italian Dish-Home-made tortellini in a butter and sage sauce. (Made with fresh butter and sage leaves) 12. Chinese Dish –Sweet & Sour Beef 13. Sandwich –Tomatoes and cheese 14. Cheese- The best hard cheese is-Zurich Oberland , Soft is Brie and the best to cook with is Gorgonzola 15. Donut- I’m not overly fond of donuts but I do love Croissants 16. Type of dessert-Oh boy, either Amaretto cream or Tiramisu 17. Type of Cake-Black-forest 18. Vegetable-Fresh asparagus or tomatoes which are technically a fruit. 19. Fruit- Oh it’s gotta be Watermelon. 20. Food In Bed- I don’t eat in bed. Sorry! Umm, if I did, it would probably be chocolate. 21. Beer-Blah, I don’t drink Beer. I do love Wine though. My fav, at the moment is Red=Bardolino (Italia) and White=Cono-Sur (Chile) 22. Drink With Dinner-Fizzy water 23. Fruit Juice-Cranberry Juice…Love, love, love this stuff. and Finally... 24. What is your favorite meal? Oh, this is a hard one…Either turkey and cornbread stuffing or Chicken and dumplings with fresh sliced tomatoes and cornbread.  |
