I signed up for a free trial membership with this company because I wanted to send one of their cards to a friend. The site requires you to input your credit card and personal information, but assures you that you will not be charged. The free trial membership lasts 30 days, and after that, if you want to join, you will be charged 13-something US dollars for the year. That is the reason for inputting your CC information, so they already have it on file.
Blue Mountain charged my credit card after the 30 day free trial without my authorization, and without sending me a confirmation that they were going to do so. I would have at least appreciated a warning a few days before the 30 days was up, stating that my year long, PAID membership would begin soon.
I called BM, very frustrated, and they could not and would not do anything for me. They told me that I had agreed to the terms of service, and you have to check off a box stating that you agree to it before you finish signing up for the free trial membership, so therefore, I must have known what I was getting into. I guess they know that nobody actually reads those things, and so decided to make a business out of it!
All I can say is WATCH OUT and READ THE FINE PRINT. This company is making a killing off of little scams, loop-holes and fine print, and once they have you, they will refuse to give you your money back. In my case, even though it was just one day past my 30-day trial membership, and I have not used their service since I sent the one free card, they refused to compensate me in any way. I cancelled my membership immediately, but was told I have access to the site for the year, since I paid. I won't be using it. Besides, most of the cards on the site are seriously crappy. Definitely not worth 14 dollars a year, and there are free card sites you can visit with more selection and better cards.
I felt this was extremely poor customer service, and I will not be supporting their business.
