Pros:Dependable, easy to use, free
Cons:Small storage space
The Bottom Line: Yahoo is one of the easiest around!
For anyone who doesn't know about Yahoo email, it's a very easy service. All you have to do is go to www.yahoo.com and go to the mail section, then fill out a form to get a username. After that, yahoo never asks you to fill anything out or visit sponsors. The service, like most popular email services, is absolutely free.
Once you have emailed all of your friends with your email address, you can start receiving your emails. To check for new emails, you simply go to the Inbox section. If you find yourself getting too much spam, (emails that you don't want, such as advertisements) you can make a bulk mail folder. This sends all the mail that are sent to many different users at once to the Bulk Mail folder. You may want to check some of the messages before deleting, because I have found a few from my friends and newsletters get put in there.
Yahoo also allows you to have a sent mail folder. This will save a copy of every email you send, so you don't have to start a new one if an email does not send for some reason. This is a nice feature because I sometimes find myself typing email addresses wrong. A way to prevent this, though, is to go to the Address Book section. Here, you can add all of your friends' email addresses to use instead of typing them in every time.
In addition to saving sent emails, Yahoo allows you to save emails from your friends. To do this, all you have to do is click on save, and then select a folder to put it in. If you do not currently have a folder, you can create one.
If you think you would like to add an attachment to an email, this can be done quite simply by clicking the Add Attachment button, and selecting the file you would like to send.
The only problem that I could find with Yahoo is that they don't give you a whole lot of space. This shouldn't be that big of a deal unless you are one of those person who saves a lot of emails. If you find that Yahoo isn't sufficient, you should try Hotmail, my favorite email service. I have written a review for hotmail, so you can read that review as well.
Overall, yahoo is one of the best mail services that you can find. Ease of use make this one of the top services on the 'net, but if you are looking for more space, read my review about Hotmail, or simply go to www.hotmail.com
