The Bottom Line If you know exactly what you want, and you're sure you want it, great. I have yet to get a response from customer service.

I suffer from allergies. I watch tv. I saw the ionic breeze informercial. I about passed out when I saw the price. I went www.sharperimage.com. I found their auction site. I bought an ionic breeze for a much reduced price. I emailed customer service with a question. Three weeks later, I still have no response.
Recently I purchased an Ionic Breeze Air Purifier. I love it. I am completely 100 % satisfied with it. It works great and my bedroom smells like fresh rain whenever I enter it now. I can go to sleep and I wake up without a stuffy head - that is my favorite thing about this product. It is silent, until it needs to be cleaned, and then it starts making a noise that reminds me of static electricity. Just pull out the center cylinder, wipe off the metal parts and put the cylinder back, and it's ready for another couple of weeks. No filters - woohoo!
I also purchased an Ionic Breeze Cat Litter Box. I can not stand a stinky litter box so I figured I would give this a try. If you go to the website to purchase this item, it is $49, however if you switch over to their auction site, they have it for $29. I bid on it and won it for that price.
When I got the products in the mail, I rushed to open them. My boyfriend took the air purifier and immediately plugged it into the wall in my bedroom, right next to my bed. Just like the infomercial said, it was silent, but you could feel the cool air rushing out of it. This is going to be great, I thought. It still is and I have no complaints on this product at all - I would recommend any allergy sufferer to get one.
I open the package with the litter box. I plug it into the wall. It hums loudly. I thought this was weird. How come the air purifier is silent, but the ionic breeze litter box is not? My cat refused to use the litter box until he absolutely had to. He does not like the sound. I picked him up and carried him next to it and he ran away as fast as he could. So I thought I would email the customer service department and ask if it is suppose to be silent as well. I looked for the manual, but the litter box did not come with one.
Over the past couple of weeks, I guess my cat has grown accustom to the noise and uses the litter box freely. I totally forgot I had emailed customer service. Since it doesn't seem to bother my cat any longer, I'm not worried about the humming noise. However, I am bothered by the fact that the customer service department ignored me. I emailed them again. Still no response. I do have the phone number listed on their website to call them, however I think they should respond to email as well as handling phone calls. This left me with a very poor image of their customer service department.
The website is easy to navigate. They have a menu at the top of the screen that will let you visit their auction site, your account information, customer service, a drop down menu for product types, monthly specials, and world wide shopping options.
I like and dislike their auctions. They have the regular shopping area with all their products, and then they have the auction section. This offers a several types of auctions:
flash auction - one hour auctions (best deals I've found on their site)
One of a kind products - very cool to look at and incredibly expensive, unique products
virtually new products - the original package has been damaged but the product is unblemished (no warranty)
brand new products - new products, never been used. These products come with an original manufacturer's warranty.
less than new - refurbished products, suppose to be "perfectly functional". They could have a scratch or dent or be slightly used or repaired. All the features are suppose to work, however these products do not come with a warranty.
The auction site has an autobid function where you can enter your maximum bid. I did find it a bit confusing and tried to raise my maximum bid, but instead it entered another separate bid for me! I thought I knew what I was doing, but apparently I didn't. Fortunately someone else bid also, so I did not get stuck with two of the product.
The site does provide a link to order a catalog, store locator, gift certificates link, employment opportunities and they even offer an affiliate program.
I ordered the product on a Sunday and chose regular shipping, which cost me $19.99. I had it at my door by Thursday. So they ship products timely. I was disappointed though when I went to their website the following Sunday and saw they were now advertising free shipping for a limited time.
I would recommend this site for someone who knows the Sharper Image line of products and knows exactly what they want. However if you're thinking you could have questions or are not quite sure if you may like a product, I would probably recommend visiting the nearest Sharper Image and evaluate and make your decision there.
