When I first purchased my Playstation 2, I was thrilled to get SSX. I read all the magazines and internet articles I could about all the release games, and all gave SSX the highest scores. I give SSX 2 thumbs down.
First off, visually, this game isn't all that great. It's so unrealistic, it's not even fun. All of the colors might look nice in Fantavision, but not a snowboarding game! Sorry, I was a huge Cool Boarders fan, and after playing Cool Boarders 3, this was a complete disappointment.
The worst part about this game would have to be the controls. I like tight controlling and this game had non-responsive controls. Sometimes you would go fast, and other times you would go slow. For the time it took me to figure out that couldn't squat down and turn at the same time, I could have done a full days worth of work.
The replay value on SSX would have been good. There are many different characters and levels to choose from, however, once you lose total concentration on what you're doing, it's hard to play this for more than one hour tops.
It took me 30 minutes to realize that I had just throw $50 down the drain, and I was mad.
To top it all off, save yourself from the misery and stay far, far away from this game.
